This week’s RAW started as the WWE World Champion Brock Lesnar came out to the arena. A short promo package for his WrestleMania 38 match was shown during his entrance, it was indeed short but it was quite cool.
Brock Lesnar entered the ring and talked about his match at WrestleMania 38 against WWE Universal Heavyweight champion Roman Reigns. It was a good promo but there is nothing special about it. Ultimately it was nothing but a pay per view match hype.
WWE RAW 28.03.2022 Results & Ratings
Match 1 – Rey Mysterio defeated The Miz
The match was booked for 2 minutes only but the whole segment was quite long. It was a nice hype for their WrestleMania match with Logan Paul being present in the ring side during the match. Rey pinned Miz with a roll up and after the match, the Mysterios beat down Miz.
Next up is an office segment where Seth Rollins met Vince McMahon. A promo was shown on how Seth Rollins kept on missing out on the opportunities to go on to WrestleMania from the last three weeks.
Seth Rollins entered the office of Mr McMahon. McMahon informed him that he had something planned for him for WrestleMania. He is going to be at WrestleMania to face an opponent of Mr McMahon’s choice. Match between Seth Rollins and a mystery opponent is now official for WrestleMania 38.
Match 2 – Omos defeated The Viking Raiders by count out
It was a 2 on 1 handicap match and it was booked for even less than one minute. Just like every other match, Omos dominated this match as well. He won the match by count out.
After the match, Omos started bragging about his strength as he was interrupted by the Almighty Bobby Lashley. The duo confronted each other as Omos attacked Lashley first. The unthinkable finally happened as Lashley knocked Omos off of his feet. No match is official yet but it looks like they are going to face each other at WrestleMania 38.
A backstage segment of the 24/7 Championship where Reggie proposed Dans Brooke and Dana said yes. Tamina attacked them and tried to pin Dana but Reggie saved her and they escaped. Akira Tozawa also challenged Tamina and Tamina also said yes.
Roman Reigns along with his team came out to the arena. He cut a promo about his match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38. It was a good promo. He looked back at his match against Brock Lesnar from WrestleMania 34 and he also talked about how he recovered from that defeat. He said at WrestleMania 38 it would be personal.
Match 3 – Sasha Banks, Naomi, Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley defeated Queen Zelina, Carmella, Natalya and Shayna Baszler
This match was booked for five minutes and it was an average match. It was booked to hype the Women’s Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 38. Rhea Ripley pinned Queen Zelina with the Riptide to earn the victory for her side.
Next up is a promo package shown on Stone Cold Steve Austin. What an amazing promo it was! Now it would be easy for today’s kids to relate with who Stone Cold Steve Austin actually was.
Kevin Owens came out to the arena. He delivered a long monologue promo on his segment with Stone Cold Steve Austin that is scheduled to take place at WrestleMania 38. It was simply and amazing promo. Owens proved why he is still one of the best holding the mic.
Match 4 – Austin Theory defeated Ricochet
This match was booked for even less than 2 minutes and this match was one of the biggest drawbacks of the night. Why is WWE burying their own Intercontinental Champion? It was a terrible defeat for Ricochet for apparently no reason. Theory should have faced someone else.
Bianca Belair came out to the arena and cut a promo on her WrestleMania 38 match against Becky Lynch for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship. It was a weak promo, Bianca is still quite weak at delivering good promos. WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch attacked her but Bianca fought back and nailed down Becky with the KOD. Bianca also cut off some hair of Becky using a scissor.
Match 5 – Drew McIntyre defeated Madcap Moss and Happy Corbin in a 2 on 1 handicap match
As expected, Moss fought in most part of the match and totally dominated by McIntyre. After McIntyre pinned Moss with the Claymore Corbin attacked him and beat him down. He took away his sword as well.
Edge and AJ Styles both delivered backstage promos to promote their match at WrestleMania 38
Match 6 – RK-Bro defeated The Usos by DQ
It was a quite a weak main event for a go home show before WrestleMania. The champions vs champions match was booked for eight minutes before Street Profits interfered. Usos fought with Nakamura and Boogs outside the ring whereas Street Profits and RK-Bro fought inside. RK-Bro came out stronger and beat down Street Profits. RK-Bro stood tall as this week’s RAW went off air.
Overall it was a good show. Of course there were a lot of flaws but it actually felt like something is happening. The buildup of the match for Seth Rollins at WrestleMania was quite good it is a good thing that they kept the opponent of Seth a secret. Lashley vs Omos is now final as well. But once again, the 24/7 Championship picture remain extremely weak. Some of the promos felt like routine. Burying IC Champion is a terrible decision. And they did not bother to book any of the mid card championship for WrestleMania. We give it 2 stars out of 5.
