Next week, WWE RAW will present the go-home edition for Royal Rumble 2022 and it will feature an Academic Challenge segment. Team RK-Bro and RAW Tag Team Champions Alpha Academy will take part in it in order to set up a rematch for the Raw tag team championships.
Over on this week’s WWE Raw, Otis and Chad Gable hosted a graduation ceremony to celebrate last week’s title win over Riddle and Randy Orton. Otis powerslamm-ed Orton in order to secure the pinfall win in that match. The graduation segment was interrupted by Riddle, who was also wearing a cap and gown who also delivered a graduation speech from the entrance ramp.

As Riddle was taunting Alpha Academy from the ramp, Otis came out and wanted to fight him. But that allowed Orton to sneak into the ring and plant Gable with an ‘RKO outta nowhere.’ Otis returned to the ring but Orton escaped while Riddle ran down to the ringside area and attacked him. Riddle then joined Orton in the ring for a celebration. Orton also wore Otis’ cap and gown from the ceremony as he posed in the turnbuckles.

Before the physical confrontation, Gable challenged Team RK-Bro to an Academic Challenge, to prove that they’re worthy for a rematch with WWE Raw tag team titles on the line. After RKO-ing Gable with the RKO at the end of the segment, Orton accepted that challenge, and apparently that segment will go down next week. This should be a series of tests between the two teams to determine which one of them is mentally superior.
The Miz to host birthday celebration on WWE Raw
In another storyline from WWE Raw, Maryse told Beth Phoenix and Edge that she wanted the Mixed Tag Team Match at the Royal Rumble to be canceled. Beth told Maryse that she’s not letting her out of the match but rather she wanted to face her in a singles capacity. The Miz came out and forced Edge to run after him. Maryse then hit Beth with her purse that had a brick in it.
Then in a backstage segment, Miz stated that it took just one shot to take Beth down. Miz also reminded that next week marks Maryse’s birthday. It was then that The Miz announced that before they take out The Grit Couple at The Rumble, next week on WWE Raw he’s going to throw the biggest birthday party extravaganza for Maryse.
