The status of Alexa Bliss in the WWE has been a matter of discussion for the past several months. She’s originally been kept off TV since September 2021 following a title match against Charlotte Flair at Extreme Rules.
Then the former women’s champion was featured in some vignettes for a TV return prior to Wrestlemania 38. But, she has again been kept off WWE TV since the Women’s Elimination Chamber Match on February 19. There’s still no confirmed update available on when she will be back, but it’s no secret within WWE that the top superstars have been frustrated with her position in the company.
Alexa Bliss did return to action at WWE Elimination Chamber 2022 following a series of vignettes. But Fightful Select provided an update regarding her situation mentioning that there was no substantial creative direction available for her when she was brought back to work for the Women’s Elimination Chamber match.
Alexa Bliss also reportedly let knew the displeasure over her lack of creative direction in the days after Elimination Chamber, and talent, creative writers, and higher-ups were aware of this.
It was additionally noted that Alexa Bliss was ready to be a part of Wrestlemania 38 (that comes as a contradictory previous update as her wedding was cited to be the reason behind recent absences) but she was obviously not used,
“Despite her not appearing on the WrestleMania card, creative was told that she was willing to work the show and there were pitches to involve her in Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair’s match that were quickly shot down. We weren’t able to confirm if those pitches came from Bliss or someone within creative.”
Alexa Bliss missed WWE Wrestlemania 38 weekend
It was noted that by the end of February of this year, it was well determined that Alexa Bliss would not be on the WrestleMania 38 card. The booking priority around the Twisted Goddes also reportedly went through a major shift after the vignettes aired in the lead-up to Elimination Chamber 2022.
Alexa Bliss was also said to be vocal about all the frustrations in recent times where nothing substantial is reserved for her character after returning from a lengthy hiatus. Reports claim that the multi-time champion voiced her frustration directly to WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon.
Alexa Bliss and singer Ryan Cabrera got married on April 9 in Palm Desert, California, and have been on their honeymoon. The good thing is that despite the WWE Superstar’s absence from TV, she’s been listed as the number-two female babyface talent on the Raw roster. Now, she is back on board and hopefully, she will be a prominent feature on Raw programming.
