WWE Universe has been seeing Superstars performing on both WWE Raw, and SmackDown shows, for a long time despite the brand barrier being intact. Even some of the Superstars are making appearances on NXT shows. Things have been such even when Vince McMahon was in charge prior to Triple H’s takeover. Now, with a new creative team intact, more crossovers will be happening, moving forward.
It was back in 2016 when WWE reintroduced its brand extension, splitting the main roster into two distinct brands in the form of WWE Raw and SmackDown. Since then two shows have strictly been maintaining separate rosters and also been featuring in a brand vs. brand warfare at the time of the Survivor Series premium live event. But that tradition has officially been broken, this year.

No WWE Raw vs. WWE SmackDown battle won’t be happening at the 2022 edition of Survivor Series but rather there will be two separate WarGames Matches from the Men and Women’s divisions as the headliners of the upcoming late November show. With that it’s safe to say that WWE Superstars appearing on a show they’re not rostered won’t stop but rather increase in the coming weeks.

WWE Raw and Smackdown cross-brand appearances to help increase viewership
Sources who spoke to Fightful Select were informed that fans can expect more crossover between brands. Obviously, WWE Raw and Smackdown Superstars can make more such cross-brand appearances while they can also show up on NXT and vice-versa.
No particular reason was given as to why the Superstars will be having more crossover appearances but the belief is that using Superstars from other brands will help increase viewership in respective weekly shows. Besides, particular Superstars can also get more exposure via more TV time.
This week’s WWE Raw saw appearances by The Bloodline – Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns alongside The Usos. In real life all of whom are Smackdown rostered Superstars.
This crossover will also be felt next week in WWE NXT as part of the ongoing rivalry between former NXT Women’s Tag Champions Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez.
It’s been confirmed that Jade and Perez will choose Superstars of the WWE main roster to face each other on next week’s show. Jade will be on WWE Raw while Perez will be on tonight’s SmackDown on FOX to scout opponents for their Halloween Havoc opponent.
