This week’s Raw is really anticipated because of the ‘superstar shake up’ angle. This is the first-time wrestlers from both brand will be performing on the same show since brand split except pay per views.
Despite all excitements of the superstar shake up, there is a big disappointment too. There will be no draft lottery this year because of superstars changing brands too soon.
It is being said that the whole scenario is created just to get AJ Styles on Raw. It is also said that WWE would organise the draft just like they used to do in the previous brand split era. But they were in a little hurry to get AJ Styles on Raw.
So what to expect from the shake-up? Is it going to be anything similar to the draft lottery? Or would it be random choices? It is not confirmed yet. But it seems like it will be random choices from the general managers of both shows. There will be no lotteries. If they would organise a lottery stuff, they would have definitely promoted it.
We are also expecting the continuation of existing storylines of both the brands. Like Smackdown storylines will progress on Raw and Raw storylines will progress on Smackdown.
As WWE confirmed that the superstar shake up will be organised for over two days, we are hoping at least 10 superstars changing brands, five from each of them.
We are also expecting to see some inter-promotional matches. Every time draft lottery took place in the earlier days, we did see inter-promotional matches happening. And we are expecting no change over that fact this time too.
We are also speculating a possible Shield reunion. Fans would really love to see this. A reunion of the shield and putting them in a six man tag team match would be an awesome choice.
About the trades, some of them we have already speculated in some of our previous articles. In case you missed them, we remind you of them again; AJ Styles will be going to Raw surely, and in his place, Smackdown will get the New Day.
Dave Meltzer has also speculated it, for the Women’s trade, we are expecting to see Charlotte coming to Smackdown and former two times SmackDown Women’s champion Alexa Bliss will be heading to Raw.
There is another prediction we need to make here. We think the Intercontinental champion Dean Ambrose will be traded to Raw in place of the United States champion Kevin Owens.
It would not be a bad option anyway. Two former world champions switching brands and also switching two mid card championships would be a great idea. And these two titles changing brands had been a rumour since Survivor Series.
We are also predicting a possible switch for Jinder Mahal keeping Mahal’s feud with Mojo Rowley in mind. It will definitely be a smart draft for the jobbers. In place of Jinder, Raw might be given any jobber, maybe Kalisto.
We are also hoping some main eventer will switch to Smackdown from Raw. Shinsuke Nakamura is not enough to fill AJ Styles’ vacant position. Seth Rollins might head to Smackdown too. It might turn out to be a surprise draft.
Instead Raw might get Baron Corbin. By this trade, Smackdown will get a great main eventer and the IC title feud between Dean Ambrose and Baron Corbin will continue at Raw. Great trading option indeed.
We are damn excited about the superstar shake up just like all of you and we are hoping to get the best out of it.
