Last week’s Raw was not up to the mark. It was a boring show overall, but in the end; the shocking stage collapse happened. It was not the first time the stage collapsed in WWE. We can remind you of couple more. For an instance, Brock Lesnar superplexing the Big Show at the Royal Rumble 2003 which resulted in a stage collapse.
But last week’ stage collapse was a little special. The stage collapsed in an amazing way! It left every fan spellbound and jump off their seats. Definitely, it was a huge push for Strowman. But at the end, it will all become wasteful once Roman Reigns beats Strowman at the Payback PPV. After Strowman lost to Reigns at Fastlane, he was never the big deal he used to be.
We think Reigns should appear this week. However, the latest rumours suggest that Reigns will directly make his return at the Payback. If Reigns does not appear this week, we seriously feel WWE does not arrange another Strowman vs. Big Show match.
It does not matter how good the match gets booked, we do not want to see another rematch. To build Strowman stronger, there are other ways too. Like having him won a handicap match, or maybe beating some bigger stars like Dean Ambrose or Seth Rollins.
Having Strowman booked in a match with either one of these two individuals will give a huge boost to the feud. We hope you understand why we are specifically mentioning these two names.
For the other ongoing feuds; the intercontinental championship feud between Miz and Dean Ambrose could not be as pumped up as it was in the Smackdown. With the involvement of Renee Young in that feud, it was indeed carrying a great storyline. But on Raw, it was just another feud for the title. Nothing special about it. They need to add some flavours to make it interesting.
The ongoing feud between Seth Rollins and Samoa Joe is not much meaningful either. Certain things need to be done to make this one interesting too. We mean, is Samoa Joe creating any heel right now? No. To make things pumped up, here is our view; Seth Rollins needs to be booked in a match this week, with the likes of Braun Strowman, in which Samoa Joe needs to cost him the game and beats him down at the end of the match. This can heat up the feud a little bit.
There are two feuds for Payback that no one seems to care about. First, Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt; a non-title match. Have you ever heard of such a nonsense before?
The WWE champion is facing someone in a pay per view in a non-title with a stipulation. It is madness. We can understand it all happened because of the sudden changes of plans in the superstar shakeup. And they did not put the title on the line because it would make things too predictable.
They had no other choices. So it is obvious that the match is not been anticipated by anyone.
Another feud is Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens for the US championship. Another predictable match. Jericho will take his time off after Payback, we all know it. So not much expectations from this feud either.
But the women’s championship match between Bayley and Alexa Bliss is a great piece of booking. Alexa Bliss was one of the biggest stars in Smackdown. So a title push for her at Raw instantly is really a great idea. This is one of the matches that fans are waiting for. Maybe Bliss will not win the title, but this match can lead to a great feud.
