The show started as the fans chanted the Undertaker’s name. Roman Reigns came out to the arena. The fans booed him badly. This possibly was the loudest boos to Roman Reigns. Roman held the mic in his hand but he did not say anything.
Fans kept chanting abusive words for him. They chanted, ‘delete’ ‘Roman sucks’. Every time he tried to say something fans really booed him loud. They chanted ‘go away’. Nobody seemed to care what he wanted to say. Finally, he said’ “this is my yard now!” And he left the ring.
Match 1 – WWE Raw Tag Team championship – The Hardy Boys vs. Gallows and Anderson
A good way to kick off the show to put a title match on the beginning of the show. The fans went really wild to greet the Hardy Boys towards the ring. Hardy boys are carrying their previous WWE gimmick but you could clearly see that Matt Hardy was constantly giving his ‘broken’ gimmick poses and styles.
As for the match, it was good. There were ‘delete’ chants throughout the match. It does not matter whatever gimmick WWE gives them, fans will never let them come out of their broken gimmick. Matt Hardy pinned Luke Gallows after Jeff Hardy hit him with a Swanton Bomb.
Winners – Hardy Boys
Match 2 – WWE Cruiserweight champion Neville vs. Mustafa Ali
Cruiserweight action where Neville was shown as an unstoppable force where he dominated Ali for the most of the time. The match was really good. It was given a ten minutes booking. Ali was quite impressive in this match. And Neville was good as always.
Winner – Neville by Submission
Mr McMahon came out to the arena. Fans gave him a wild ovation. When he entered the ring fans started chanting ‘Roman sucks” which Mr McMahon never seemed to enjoy. He thanked the fans for being so supportive. He then showed the footage where Stephanie McMahon crashed through a table last night at WrestleMania 33 and he told that she would be out of action for some time. The fans loved to hear this.
He said that the show must go on. As the commissioner was out of action and Mick Foley was fired, it was time to get a new general manager. He said that the new general manager just got inducted into the hall of fame. Teddy Long came out and started dancing. Vince McMahon told him to stop dancing because it was not him. Teddy Long accepted his bad and shouted ‘hola hola’ danced his way out.
Vince McMahon introduced us to the new general manager who turned out to be Kurt Angle. The fans really went wild. Angle entered the ring, Vince McMahon shook hands with Angle and left. The fans chanted ‘one more match.’ Kurt Angle said that he felt really good to be back on Monday Night Raw.
Match 3 – The New Day vs. The Revival
A debut! Oh, my god, the Revival is here! The revival made their main roster debut. The new day came out and issued an open challenge as they were answered by the Revival. The fans greeted them wildly. But why are they putting everyone on Raw? Can’t they see how poor Smackdown tag team division is doing? And they put both Hardy boys and Revival on Raw?
The match was entertaining. It was booked to promote the Revival. Dash Wilder pinned Xavier Woods for the win. After the victory, they beat down Kofi Kingston. So the Revival are heel tag teams.
Backstage Enzo and Cass met Kurt Angle where Kurt Angle put them in a match against Sheamus and Cesaro which would be a no 1 contender’s match for the tag team championships.
Match 4 – Six Woman tag team match – Sasha Banks, Dana Brooke and Raw Women’s champion Bayley vs. Emma, Nia Jax and Charlotte Flair
Another return! This time it’s the return of Emma. So the Emmalina gimmick is totally scrapped. She is back in her previous heel gimmick. For the match, it was okay. Not the best six person tag team match ever but it was entertaining in some angles. The match was booked for less than ten minutes. Sasha Banks made Charlotte submit with the Banks statement. After the match, Charlotte tried to take out her frustration on Emma and Nia. Nia beat down Charlotte as Emma slid out of the ring.
Backstage Sami Zayn and Jinder Mahal argued in front of Kurt Angle where Angle made a match between the two.

The new Universal champion Brock Lesnar came out to the arena with his on screen advocate Paul Heyman. Paul Heyman addressed Goldberg and made fun of him. Fans booed to hear Goldberg’s name and when Heyman said that they would never see Goldberg around here anymore the fans reacted very happily. Heyman next named some wrestlers who could be up for the challenge for Lesnar’s title, like Seth Rollins, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, even both. Then he mentioned Roman Reigns. So Reigns is next in the queue for Brock. Roman got challenged by Paul. Braun Strowman interfered and challenged Brock. This can be a great feud, let this happen!
Backstage Chris Jericho was getting interviewed, during the interview Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe attacked and beat him down.
Match 5 – No 1 contender’s match for the tag team championships – Enzo and Cass vs. Sheamus and Cesaro
The match got booked for five minutes. Fans were on Sheamus and Cesaro’s side throughout the match as they totally booed Enzo and Cass. Cesaro picked up the win for his side with an uppercut on Enzo Amore.
Match 6 – Jinder Mahal vs. Sami Zayn
Good for Sami to beat some jobbers. Jinder a mid card jobber so it is okay for Sami to have some matches and win. Having a number of wins over some jobbers could slowly elevate him back where he belonged.
Main Event – Samoa Joe and WWE United States champion Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins and Finn Balor
Another return! This time, it’s the biggest one; ‘the Demon King’ Finn Balor is back! And what a moment it was! The fans went absolutely wild to see Finn coming back. But one thing we did not understand, why did the commentators take a pause during the return of Finn? They were totally quiet.
Now let us talk about the match. Well, you have four former NXT champions involved in a match, how can you not expect something huge? The match was great indeed, it was fun and pacy. It was booked for almost twenty minutes. It took quite a while to get Finn into the match. But when he entered he made everyone go crazy. Finn and Seth picked up the win as Finn pinned Kevin Owens with the Coup De Grace.
Winners – Seth Rollins and Finn Balor
