Ahead of their dream bout at Royal Rumble 2022, Bobby Lashley and Brock Lesnar appeared under one roof during this week’s Raw. There have been some back and forth verbal exchanges between the two heavyweights as they amped things up for the ongoing WWE Championship storyline.
WWE Champion Brock Lesnar came out to open this week’s WWE Raw with his advocate Paul Heyman in a big pop from Philadelphia. The pyro hit the arena as they entered the ring. Raw commentator Corey Graves hyped up the upcoming Lashley vs. Lesnar bout at WWE Royal Rumble.
We then saw MVP and Lashley watching backstage when Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander approached, happy about The Hurt Business being back together. Lashley affirmed that the group exists no more and he never implied that they were back together. Lashley also advised these two names to go to hell because The All-Mighty works alone.

Lashley then came out to the ring and met Brock Lesnar in the ring. Lashley told Lesnar that it’s an honor to be in the ring with him, but then he claimed that he has been ducking and running away from him for 20 years, now. Lesnar then stated that he didn’t have a clue who Lashley was until they met at the Day 1 PPV.

Brock Lesnar will face Bobby Lashley at Royal Rumble
Brock Lesnar said that for two decades he has been winning championships in this ring and other rings (referring to his UFC and NJPW stints) and that it’s not his fault that Lashley has been unable to climb the ladder of success, matching up to him. Lesnar then said that if they had faced each other before, he would have already defeated and it’s certain that they shouldn’t have a meeting on Raw.
Lashley implied that Brock Lesnar is good at comedy as the champion responded by saying, “I’m funny and money”. The face-to-face segment ended as Lesnar said that it’s impossible to beat him and even more impossible to beat him when you’re a Lesnar wannabe. Lesnar dropped the mic and walked off as his music hit.

The Hurt Business’ Benjamin and Alexander suddenly attacked Lashley from behind but he fought them off and cleared the ring. The challenger for the WWE title dropped Alexander into the mat. Lashley then went to ringside, scooped Benjamin up, and rammed him into the ring post. Lashley grabbed Alexander and launched him into the barrier and then ran him into the ring post before leaving with MVP.
