Last Monday on RAW, the team of Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green shocked the entire world when they defeated Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Not only it was shocking but pretty iconic as well. The women’s Tag Team titles are the only WWE titles that are getting change hand pretty often.
Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan got attacked backstage by the Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley as a result Rodriguez got a kayfabe injury. This was the biggest reason behind the defeat of Rodriguez and Morgan. It was more of a two on one match where Rodriguez struggled with her knee injury and Morgan had to fight both Green and Deville alone.

Morgan tried her best to compete all alone but ultimately she failed as Deville and Green mastered her to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team championships. Chelsea Green’s boyfriend Matt Cardona who himself is a former champion in WWE congratulated her. Speaking on the “Busted Open Radio”, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion said;
“I was very, very proud of her,” Cardona said. “I was there. I was getting my hair cut when she called me and said she got fired. So I’ve been through this whole journey of her working on the indies, being my Miss Elizabeth, getting hit accidentally with championships.

“I saw her at the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, so now I have the opportunity to go for the women’s tag team titles. I had to be there, and luckily they won, and now, thanks to her, I’m one-half of one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.”
“I didn’t want to be backstage. I didn’t want to look like I was begging for a job. I made sure John Cone snuck me in and snuck me out,” he explained. “So I was watching and I was super proud of [Chelsea] winning the titles.” Concluded the former WWE Intercontinental Champion.

Chelsea Green had to struggle a lot before finally getting spotlights. She was brought back to WWE mostly to work as a jobber. In spite of the fact WWE brought her back to use her as a jobber, her talent finally brought her to the position she deserves to be. We hope to see her on the main event level scene soon.
