WWE Hall of Famer Edge has been announced to return to his hometown for a special episode of WWE Raw, two weeks from now. In the potential main event set for the August 22 episode, Edge will continue to seek retribution against The Judgment Day members.
During last night’s episode of WWE Raw, Judgment Day’s Damian Priest cut a heel promo and laid down the challenge for the Rated-R superstar for a match on the episode that emanates from the latter’s hometown of Toronto,
“Edge hasn’t wrestled on Monday Night Raw in Toronto in what 12 years? Well, here it is – I’m officially challenging you to a match. One-on-one, you and me. The Rated-R Superstar vs. The Punishment of the Judgment Day. If you still have a set, let’s end this!”

Edge would later appear on WWE Raw Talk to accept the challenge, as seen in the video below. He stated the following to make the match official for the coming Monday Night episode set from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto,
“I accept your challenge. Do you have a set to leave your gothic bookends at home and face me one-on-one? When you first started in WWE, who did you call? Who was always there when you called for advice? When I had the idea for Judgment Day, it was a no-brainer – you, myself & Rhea Ripley; let’s do it! You tore it apart.”
“You want to try and end my career in my hometown? You wanna test me like that, Priest? There’s going to be a point in the match where you look up and I’m gonna say, ‘son, you don’t know the mistake you made.’ I’ll see you in Toronto, kid.”

Edge set to appear on WWE Raw from his hometown of Toronto, Canada
With that, Edge is set to wrestle in his hometown of Toronto after May 2010. On that night, he defeated his best friend and another Toronto-native Christian. This will also be Edge’s first match on WWE Raw since his bout against Randy Orton on February 1, 2021, the night after Royal Rumble 2021 PPV, a night where he also won the Men’s Rumble match to book himself in Wrestlemania 37 main-event match.
Since his return in 2020, the August 22 WWE Raw episode match will mark Edge’s fourth only television match. The last time he competed against Seth Rollins was on the September 10, 2021, episode of SmackDown at Madison Square Garden. Prior to that, he defeated Jey Uso on a March episode of Smackdown en route to Wrestlemania 37.
According to recent reports from PWInsider, Edge is advertised for all episodes of WWE Raw leading to Clash at the Castle on September 3. Once he’s done with Priest, it’s expected that Finn Balor vs. Edge will be booked at the premium live event set for Cardiff, Wales. Edge is booked to compete at the PLE since the first official poster was unveiled a few months ago.
