WWE Raw March 6, 2017 Analysis

Indeed, it (February 7) was a good episode of Raw as there were some action packed matches and not much promos, but whatever they had in promos to feature was good and had decent buildups for WrestleMania 33.
After the failure of Fastlane, the WWE managed to make this week’s Raw an exciting one. Fans were complaining about the poor progress of Raw almost every week and so finally they got something to cheer for.
The opening segment between Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens was really cool. A much anticipated confrontation between the two on screen best friends. It was enjoyable as both men delivered really well.
Another big thing about this week’s Raw was Brock Lesnar nailing Goldberg with an F5, the first time Goldberg getting beaten since his return.
About the matches, not all were booked were good but there were some really good ones. We saw Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn for the nth time, which did not make any sense. And the worst part of this match was Sami being the ultimate jobber.
Samoa Joe vs. Chris Jericho was a good match, even though it was not booked for long. Joe securing a victory via count out was a clever booking we must admit. Chris Jericho was the returning babyface and a pin-fall loss for him would not have been a good sign for their WrestleMania match.
Speaking of WrestleMania, we got our second WrestleMania match official on card – Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens for the United States championship.
The best match of the night was the Cruiserweight championship match between Neville and Rich Swann.
Cruiserweights are really doing great. Even at Fastlane, Cruiserweight championship match turned out to be the best match of the night. Austin Aries got involved in an unofficial fight with Neville after the match, which will surely lead to a Neville – Aries fight. Having Austin Aries as a member of the 205 live roster would seriously be a huge boost for the division.
About the other matches, Bayley vs. Sasha Banks was booked which was a non-title match where if Sasha wins, she will join Bayley and Charlotte at WrestleMania. It was a good match with more or less ten minutes of booking but Bayley; the champion losing via submission is not a good look. However, a Triple Threat match between Bayley, Charlotte and Sasha would be exciting to have at WrestleMania.
Moving on to the final segment of the night, Braun Strowman called out Roman Reigns instead he got the Undertaker! Braun left the ring as Roman Reigns came out and stood face to face with Undertaker. The Deadman pointed to the WrestleMania logo and choke slammed Roman.
Final Verdict – Overall it was a good show, definitely better than a number of previous weeks. The Undertaker’s appearance was a big boost. We’ve now got two WrestleMania matches confirmed and both being set by Raw. The third one between Undertaker and Roman Reigns might get official by next week. Let us see what Smackdown comes up with this week.
