This week’s edition of WWE Raw will continue the builds for the 2022 edition of Royal Rumble with Brock Lesnar being advertised as the major attraction. A triple threat match is the potential main event of the night to crown a new challenger for the Raw Women’s Championship. Apart from that, the tag team titles will also be on the line when WWE’s flagship show will air from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Bobby Lashley vs. WWE Champion Brock Lesnar has been made official for the 2022 WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Last week’s WWE RAW main event saw Lashley become the new number-one contender by winning a Fatal 4 Way over Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, and former champion Big E. Lashley hit a spear on Owens to get the pinfall win and set up the dream title match for the WWE Universe.

This marks the first WWE Title defense for Lesnar since winning the belt at January 1 WWE Day 1 pay-per-view in the Fatal 5 Way main event with Big E, Lashley, Owens, and Rollins. Ahead of this Lashley vs. Lesnar match, a promo has been airing for WWE Raw which hints that the storyline for this title bout will begin.

WWE hasn’t confirmed Lesnar for an appearance on the show. But on the official website of the Wells Fargo Center has announced that the WWE Champion will be at the venue, tonight with the following statement,

“JUST ANNOUNCED!” a tweet from the Wells Fargo Center noted. “The New WWE Champion, “The Beast” Brock Lesnar will be live in Philly Next Monday for Monday Night RAW!”

WWE Raw Preview (10/01/22): Becky Lynch’s Rumble challenger to be decided

WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is set to defend her title at WWE Royal Rumble 2022 pay-per-view. To determine her opponent, a match will take place with the lineup of Liv Morgan vs. Bianca Belair vs. Doudrop in a Triple Threat. The winner will be named the new number-one contender to Lynch for a title match at The Rumble.

Lynch successfully retained her title over Morgan via clean pinfall at WWE Day 1 pay-per-view. She was then confronted by Morgan during the post-Day 1 edition of WWE Raw. Bianca Belair also appeared at the scene claiming her shot at the title. Doudrop later confronted WWE Officials Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville, demanding a title shot and thus the Triple Threat was set up.

WWE Raw Preview (10/01/22): Title Match; Triple Threat; Alexa Bliss 1

WWE Raw Tag Team Titles will be defended during this stacked edition as WWE has announced that Team RK-Bro’s Randy Orton and Riddle will put their tag titles on the line against Otis and Chad Gable.

This match comes after Alpha Academy won a non-title tag team match over RK-Bro, last week. Orton and Riddle went through a successful title defense over The Street Profits – Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins at WWE Day 1. Orton captured recent singles wins over Otis and Gable, while Riddle has a win over Gable, but he lost to Otis. Riddle also suffered the pinfall loss to Otis during the non-title tag bout.

WWE Raw Preview (10/01/22): Title Match; Triple Threat; Alexa Bliss 2

Last week, it was announced that we will be seeing Alexa Bliss’ journey back to WWE RAW. Nothing specific was confirmed as to what WWE has in store for these segments but it appears that a series of vignettes will be shown to set up Bliss’ eventual return to TV. No update is available on when the top superstar would be back but we assume Royal Rumble could be that place.

Bliss has been absent from TV since losing to then-WWE RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view on September 26. Reports claimed that she took “a few months” off due to sinus surgery. The apparent healing process is now over as she is expected to return under a new gimmick, getting over from the twisted Goddess persona.
