Royal Rumble 2022 will offer a star-studded lineup as 30 female superstars will duke it out for a championship opportunity at Wrestlemania 38. A shortage in terms of participants from the current female roster is the reported reason why WWE has called so many legendary names back into the fray.
Paige isn’t one of those confirmed names who will be appearing at Royal Rumble 2022 but that didn’t stop her from trending on the internet. There have been many occasions, last year when the former WWE Divas Champion dropped hints indicating she is preparing to make a return to the ring which is one of the reasons why WWE Universe believes that she could be a surprise name in the 30-woman Rumble match.

After WWE announced the names of some of the participants of the Royal Rumble 2022 match on Friday Night SmackDown, Paige’s name started trending despite her name not being included in that announcement. Upon learning the trend, she pointed out how this is the month of Rumble where shockers do come true.
“Wait I was trending again? I mean, it is January,” Paige wrote in a tweet and then added the following in another one, “I tell ya what though, it does feel fu**ing awesome to see so many people even after 4 years, miss me wrestling [heart emoji].

Paige could make a comeback at Royal Rumble 2022
Back in September 2021, Paige tweeted out “January” and “I’m not done yet. [flexed biceps]” indicating that her return is possibly happening at Royal Rumble 2022. During a Twitch stream, Paige mentioned how she wanted her return to be a surprise and hence denied to offer any timeframe around her comeback.
A month later, the former two-time Divas Champion let the speculations run wild by posting a picture of her wrestling boots with the Divas Championship and a poster of the film Fighting With My Family in the background. This was a hint that she could have been back in training sessions, already.
Due to a neck injury, Paige wasn’t cleared to compete in the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble match in January 2018 which eventually led to her in-ring retirement. Hence, it’ll be fitting for her to make her comeback in Royal Rumble 2022. At this point, no confirmed update is available regarding her impending return.
