Post WrestleMania season continues on WWE Raw eyeing the next pay-per-view event Backlash on the line as the fallouts from the Biggest Event of the Year await. On that note, a couple of matches and a segment have been announced for this week’s show to make it a stacked one.

A rematch from WrestleMania 34 will be on the card which was originally slated for the bygone 37th edition for the Women’s Title. A first-ever match has been announced on the show, perhaps to kick off a fresh feud. Also, the challenger for the WWE Championship will seek answers from MVP when WWE Raw airs this week from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.

Per WWE’s announcement, Drew McIntyre will be looking for answers from MVP on Monday’s RAW after what went down, last week. He was put into a Triple Threat alongside Randy Orton and Braun Strowman in a number-one contender’s match for the WWE Championship. He won that match but after the win, he was blindsided by former RETRIBUTION members Mace and T-BAR.

MVP appeared on the ramp providing a distraction for the Scottish Warrior while it was also indicated that he could be behind the attack. It also appeared that Mace and T-BAR could be the new allies of the WWE Champion Bobby Lashley. As McIntyre vs. Lashley championship program continues eyeing WrestleMania Backlash, MVP could officially announce a new alliance on WWE Raw.

WWE Raw Preview (19/04/21): Asuka vs Charlotte Flair

WWE Raw Preview (19/04/21): Drew McIntyre; Asuka vs Flair; Orton vs Strowman 1

During this past episode of WWE SmackDown, it was announced that WWE RAW will feature Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka in a singles contest. Per the storyline, last month, this match should have gone down at WrestleMania 37 for the Raw Women’s Title. But Flair had to be taken off TV as she tested positive for COVID-19 and some other unavoidable circumstances.

Now, this match comes after Flair returned, last week and attacked Asuka and the new WWE RAW Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley during their WrestleMania 37 rematch with the title on the line. With the ten-time champion coming back to the show, it appears that WWE could be building up a three-way program featuring these three women. Thus, a Triple Threat over the title is expected at WrestleMania Backlash.

Randy Orton vs. Braun Strowman has also been confirmed for this coming episode of WWE Raw. This would be the first time ever that the two top Superstars will go head to head in a singles contest. Orton and Strowman have competed in several tag team and multi-man matches over the past few years, but there had never been a one-on-one bout between them.

The match was announced after they featured in a Triple Threat along with Drew McIntyre last Monday. McIntyre ultimately won that match to earn a title shot from WWE Champion Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania Backlash. Orton won his scheduled match against The Fiend Bray Wyatt at Mania while Strowman also won his bout against Shane McMahon. What would go down when these two names with big momentums by their side, collide in the ring? We’ll find out when the latest WWE Raw episode airs from the ThunderDome.
