Monday Night Raw started as Drew McIntyre entered the arena. Drew addressed WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and said this match is happening. Lashley tried everything to stop this match but he could not. Drew said that he left everything behind to come to WWE and no one can stop him now.
Lashley interfered and exchanged words with Drew. He said Drew was a great champion but it was Lashley’s time, and WrestleMania Lashley will retain. King Corbin entered and addressed Drew as well.
WWE Raw Results And Ratings 05.04.21
Match 1 – Xavier Woods defeated AJ Styles
Really poor booking. The match was booked for less than two minutes and Woods pinned AJ Styles with a roll-up pin. Extremely bad treatment with a former three times WWE champion.
Braun Strowman entered the arena and addressed his WrestleMania opponent Shane McMahon. He said that at WrestleMania he will not only beat Shane but destroy him too. Shane entered the arena and insulted Braun.
Match 2 – Braun Strowman defeated Elias & Jaxson Ryker
The match was given around three minutes booking and it was nearly a squash. Braun pinned both individuals at the same time after he knocked them out with power slams.
Backstage The Miz and John Morrison put paint on Bad Bunny’s 3 million dollar car. As Bad Bunny came to see his car Miz and Morrison bet him down.
Match 3 – WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler defeated Rhea Ripley and WWE Raw Women’s Champion Asuka
Finally a match with a little longer booking. It was given more than eight minutes of booking. It was an entertaining match. Rhea and Asuka could not keep the chemistry between each other during the match Rhea beat down Asuka. Shayna Baszler took the opportunity and pinned Asuka.
Backstage all the women’s tag teams wanted to face the Women’s tag team champions at WrestleMania. Nia Jax announced a tag team turmoil match between all the teams on Saturday and the winners will face the champions on Sunday for the title
Match 4 – WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defeated Cedric Alexander y Submission
Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander tried to beat down Lashley before the match could start. But Lashley took the situation under his control and he took Benjamin out of the ring. Unexpectedly, Cedric was given a good booking in this match. It was not at all a squash. Even though Lashley won with a full nelson slam but the match was given a seven minutes booking time. After the match ended, Lashley beat down Benjamin too.
Match 5 – WWE United States Champion Riddle defeated Mustafa Ali
It was an entertaining match and was given a six minutes booking time. They booked this match mainly to hype the US title match at WrestleMania between Riddle and Sheamus. Speaking of Sheamus, he was in the commentary table during the match. Riddle pinned Mustafa Ali with a Neutralizer.
Match 6 – Drew McIntyre defeated King Corbin
Very good match and a great way to end the last Raw before WrestleMania. It was given a fifteen minutes booking time and it was a great contest. Drew pinned Corbin with a Claymore. Drew and Lashley looked at each other and both pointed to WrestleMania 37 sign as the show went off the air.
Overall, the last Raw before WrestleMania was pretty average. It somehow felt pretty empty for the weak booking. We give it a two-star out of five. One star will be deducted for terrible booking for AJ Styles, one star will be deducted for the slow pace and one star will be deducted for not featuring Orton, Alexa Bliss, or the Fiend before the final showdown.
