Roman Reigns will start builds for the main event of Summerslam during this week’s episode of Smackdown. As confirmed by the WWE, the dual champion in the WWE will be back onboard to hype up his Last Man Standing match against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam on July 30. Former SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will also address the newly-crowned champion, Liv Morgan, during the episode.

Both these segments will be targeting title matches for the biggest party of the summer. Before heading into the PLE, WWE will host a special episode of Monday Night Raw from the world’s most famous arena and WWE’s Tribal Chief will be in attendance.

It was confirmed by PWInsider that Roman Reigns and The Usos – The Bloodline will be making their return to WWE Raw at the July 25 episode that takes place at the Madison Square Garden in New York City. This is likely to be the next appearance for the top champion in the WWE following his appearance on the July 8 Smackdown.

Roman Reigns set for the Summerslam go-home episode of Raw

Earlier to this, Roman Reigns appeared on the June 17 episode of SmackDown where he successfully defended his undisputed title against Riddle and then met a returning Brock Lesnar who down The Bloodline with a flurry of F5s. This set the stage for their Last Man Standing match at SummerSlam. The MSG episode of Raw will serve as the go-home episode before SummerSlam on July 30.

WWE’s MSG show will have the main event match of Seth Rollins vs. Riddle but it’s not confirmed whether it will be a dark match or a televised bout. Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, Bobby Lashley, The Street Profits, AJ Styles, Theory, and the former Smackdown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey are also slated to appear on the red brand, that night.

Summerslam marks the first Premium Live Event appearance for Roman Reigns since the six-man tag team match at WrestleMania Backlash in May. He then missed WWE’s Hell In A Cell premiere live event on June 5 and the Money In The Bank event in Las Vegas this past Saturday. Throughout the post-Mani season, he’s been making sporadic appearances on SmackDown and Raw.
