Roman Reigns is set to compete in the main event of Summerslam 2022 and the buildups around the match will begin this Friday Night. The reigning champion in the WWE has been absent from television for a couple of weeks but he will be back on this week’s Smackdown.
It was announced during last night’s Raw from San Diego that Roman Reigns will be heading back to Smackdown, this week. WWE didn’t specifically announce what he will be doing on the show but we can assume that he will hype things up for his Last Man Standing match against Brock Lesnar that’s set to happen at SummerSlam on July 30.

It was also announced through a video promo that Ronda Rousey will address newly-crowned WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan during this week’s episode of Smackdown. This comes after Morgan cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase on Ronda Rousey to become the new champion at the Money in the Bank premium live event.

Roman Reigns missed two straight WWE PLEs
Originally, Roman Reigns was also scheduled to appear at Money in the Bank but he was pulled after the show was moved to the MGM Grand Arena from the Allegiant Stadium. SummerSlam will be the Tribal Chief’s first Premium Live Event since the six-man tag team match at WrestleMania Backlash in May. Thereafter he missed Hell In A Cell premiere live event on June 5 and Money In The Bank in Las Vegas this past weekend.
This week’s Smackdown will also mark Roman Reigns’ first TV appearance since successfully defeating Riddle on the June 17 episode of SmackDown to retain the undisputed title. After the match, Brock Lesnar returned to WWE for the first time since Wrestlemania 38 as he attacked the WWE Universal Champion alongside The Usos with F-5s to set up the rematch against Lesnar at Summerslam.
