In a shocking move, Austin Theory tried to cash in his Money in the Bank contract on WWE Raw, last night and ended up being unsuccessful. A few months ago, the bright superstar surprised everyone when he won the Money in the Bank briefcase. Back then, he used to be touted as the youngest United States Champion as well as the youngest MITB briefcase holder.
With Vince McMahon backing things up for him on WWE Raw, the future looked extremely bright for him. But as time progressed, WWE management softened about his push as he’s perhaps not ready to become a champion. At least, not until Roman Reigns is the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

As seen on WWE Raw, this week, Seth Rollins came out for a United States Championship Open Challenge. Judgment Day came out and the leader of the faction, Finn Balor reminded Seth how he cost him gold in the past and so he intended to return the favor.
The O.C. then came out as the leader AJ Styles revealed that they found someone to join forces with them to take care of Rhea Ripley. It was the returning Mia Yim (fka Reckoning of the RETRIBUTION stable). Seth Rollins then had to leave the ring as both teams brawled after which The O.C. stood tall.

Bobby Lashley made a big impact on WWE Raw main event
Then in the main event segment of WWE Raw, Rollins came out, again for his open challenge. Mustafa Ali was about to answer the challenge, but Bobby Lashley came from behind and attacked him. Lashley then destroyed Rollins before the match could begin. Lashley left and out came Mr. Money In The Bank Austin Theory to cash in his contract.
Theory then cashed in his contract on Rollins and the match had officially begun. Austin was moments away from the win when Lashley came out again and absolutely destroyed Theory. The referee was counting to ten but Theory ran back to the ring only to eat a Stomp from Rollins to digest the pinfall loss on WWE Raw.
This was the first time that a Money in the Bank briefcase holder cashed in his contract on the US Title but came up short. Only time will tell, how Theory will be booked in the future now that he’d lost his coveted MITB contract.
