Post Wrestlemania-38 season is in full force on WWE Raw that is taking us towards Wrestlemania Backlash 2022. Prior to that Premium Live Event, there will be a couple of more episodes from the red brand including next week’s episode. One of the headliners of the upcoming night will feature the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships match.
WWE had previously announced that Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan would challenge WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Naomi during this week’s WWE RAW episode. But then Ripley was taken off the show due to protocols. It wasn’t announced exactly what the reason was behind the absence.

In her absence, Morgan ended up taking a singles loss to Naomi. This comes after she pulled off an upset win over Sasha Banks on this past week’s episode of Smackdown. Ripley was off tonight’s RAW due to being “in protocol”. WWE then announced the title match for next Monday’s RAW.

Rhea Ripley has been absent from WWE Raw/Smackdown
Ripley was also not on last Friday’s SmackDown as Morgan defeated Banks in singles action. Ripley did wrestle last Monday on the post-WrestleMania 38 WWE Raw as she and Liv took a loss to Banks and Naomi in a non-title Championship Contender’s match. Afterward, she was still able to receive a title shot from WWE Official Adam Pearce.
Ripley wasn’t also in attendance of Smackdown while the commentary team only noted that she was “in protocol”. WWE then announced the title match for next Monday’s WWE Raw but nothing much was stated. Ripley, herself is also silent on the matter.
During this week’s WWE Raw, it was also noted that WWE has dropped the “Austin” first name for WWE Superstar Austin Theory. Thus, the up-and-coming WWE Superstar will now be billed by just his last name – Theory. Under this new name, he will now be challenging for a mid-card title in the WWE.
WWE Raw featured a backstage segment where Theory confronted WWE Officials Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville and reminded them how WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon has promised him a shot at Finn Balor’s WWE United States Title. Theory also revealed the name change and that’s how he and Mr. McMahon decided to go with the name, “Theory,” moving forward.
Following this, Pearce ruled that Theory vs. Balor will take place on next week’s WWE Raw with the United States title, on the line.
