WWE is promoting that AJ Styles is injured, legit after suffering a brutal assault by WWE Hall of Famer, Edge. An injury update on the superstar from Raw has been issued which is supposedly a kayfabe one given hos he’s scheduled to compete against Edge at Wrestlemania 38.
Last week on Raw, AJ accepted the WrestleMania 38 challenge issued by WWE Hall of Famer Edge. The match was quickly confirmed but The Rated R Superstar ended up turning heel on AJ. After a beatdown, he took AJ down with a low blow kick and then delivered two steel chair shots aka Con-Chair-To for two separate occasions.

In an update to the situation, WWE has announced that AJ has suffered a severe neck contusion due to the shots laid by Edge with the chairs.
“Following Edge’s vicious assault on last week’s Raw, and as a result of consecutive Con-Chair-Tos, it has been determined that AJ Styles has suffered a severe neck contusion. At this time, it is unclear how the injury will affect The Phenomenal One on his Road to WrestleMania, where he is slated to battle The Rated-R Superstar,” WWE offered in their update.

Edge proceeded with AJ Styles’ injury angle on Raw
AJ Styles has not responded to the storyline injury update but he did fire back on Twitter to send a straight-up warning to the legendary superstar, “I accepted your #WrestleMania challenge like a man and you responded like a coward. You got the better of me on #WWERaw and made your move. Now you better prepare yourself for mine.”
Edge then appeared on this week’s Raw from Cleveland, Ohio to explain why he attacked AJ, last week. He came out to dim lights without any pyro or music which could be his new heel entrance. Edge stated how he delivered the attack to get the best interest of AJ Styles because if AJ wants to face him at WrestleMania 38, he wants the flesh-tearing bulldog version.
Edge also said that he tapped into a side of himself he didn’t know, exists and now he feels in control of everything in the ring and the feeling seems phenomenal. The storyline will move forward, next week while WWE has confirmed that Edge vs. AJ Styles will take place during Night Two of WrestleMania 38.
