WWE Rumor: All-Women Evolution PPV Could Happen In 2019

We have reported it earlier that one of the most successful events from 2018 might not be returning this year. Evolution pay-per-view was the most critically acclaimed shows of the calendar that also earned appreciations from the audience. The women superstars received the first opportunity to shine bright in a PPV event and utilized it to the fullest.

As 2019 approached, there have been negative reports on the return of this show as the prominent names who carried the show are absent from the scene. Ronda Rousey is the first name that comes into mind who has been on a hiatus since Wrestlemania 35. Nikki Bella was the co-main-eventer alongside her who recently announced her retirement from pro-wrestling. WWE doubted whether it’d be good to host Evolution without them.

Just when we thought WWE would cancel the show from 2019 calendar, the talks about the show might be back in track with Sasha Banks’ return to the company. As carried in a report by EWrestlingNews.com (originally reported by Tom Colohue), the overwhelming response of the heel turn of The Legit Boss could act as an inducer to bring back Evolution.

The insider belief is that Trish Stratus will be appearing on the October 4th edition of Smackdown which may coincide with the return of Ronda Rousey. Thereafter, WWE could add the fresh talents from the NXT and NXT UK roster to the fray to put things together and deliver Evolution 2.0. For now, though, the forthcoming schedule does not have any mention of the show.

This led the potential headliner to go on a rant. WWE Raw women’s champion Becky Lynch is the concerned person who wants to be the front figure of 2nd edition of Evolution PPV if that becomes a reality. Her upcoming feud against Sasha Banks could be a smart choice to be a main-event match. Since people have been talking about it, she does not get what could be the reason for WWE nixing Evolution from the schedule. Here are her comments from a recent interview on whether WWE should hold the all-women event, again,

“First and foremost, it was one of the best pay-per-views of the year. And that’s not me being biased, that’s a fact,” Lynch confidently stated. “It had Match of the Year on it, including yours truly.

I don’t see any reason why not. I think we have a strong enough women’s division [without Rousey], as long as they tell the stories around us and let us go. And … that’s all I’ll say.”
