CM Punk appearing on WWE TV could be the ‘return of the decade’ as we all know. For years, fans have been willing to get this only to be disappointed. With Smackdown Live moving to FOX Sports, a situation has appeared that could be happening in a different scenario where he could be coming as a part of a talk-show on the new host channel.

As per the recent reports, CM Punk could appear on the talk-show proposed following Smackdown Live taping from October onwards. Whereas the main show will air on FOX this WWE talk show will also debut on FOX’s FS1. Punk’s representatives have contacted with the host network so that the former WWE Champion could be a part of the show. There’s no update whether they received a green signal on this.

Check out more on this scenario as updated by wwfoldschool.com,

“According to the Wrestling Observer, an agent from CAA (Creative Artists Agency – an agency which represents both WWE and CM Punk) reached out to FOX higher-ups to pitch the idea of Punk working as a co-host on this in-studio WWE talk show on FS1. Renee Young will be the main host of this talk show.

If a deal is made, then Punk would be working for FOX, not WWE.”

As you can see here, if CM Punk does appear in the talk-show then he will end up working for FOX Sports network, not for the WWE. Thereby, he will keep his promise of maintaining distance from the biggest pro-wrestling banner in the world. The bad blood between the two parties is going on for the past several years starting from 2014. Even after so many years, there’s no indication of ending the rift.

Meanwhile, the talk-show hosted in FOX Sports will get an automatic booster if CM Punk does end up being the co-host with Renee Young. After all, fans will see him back on a mainstream channel on making regular appearances and talking about pro-wrestling. Glimpses of the former leader of the Straight Edge Society could act as a huge beneficiary for the host network.

Whether or not we see CM Punk, WWE has already confirmed several more appearances for Smackdown debut on FOX Sports. WWE Superstars from past and present will gather at STAPLES Center to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the show, including WWE Hall of Famers Kurt Angle, Lita, Mick Foley, Booker T, Hulk Hogan, Trish Stratus, Goldberg, Jerry “The King” Lawler, Mark Henry, Ric Flair, and Sting. Promotional posters of the show also feature The Undertaker hinting that he will be in attendance.
