WWE Rumor: Officials Considering An In-Ring Return For Paige 1

This past week on WWE Raw, Paige made her return on TV to surprise the fans. She was present to endorse the Kabuki Warriors, the team that she introduced to the world, earlier this year.

But Asuka spat green mist on her face during the promo segment this week and effectively fired Paige from their manager’s post. It was a stunt pulled off by WWE creative to increase the heel heat on the current Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Paige talked life after MMS leak scandal

Meanwhile, Brad Shepard reported that Paige wanted to take the altercation to a step further. Apparently, she wanted to get locked into the Asuka Lock. This could have done much more to the heel status of the Japanese duo.

However, WWE is very strict when it comes to protecting injuries. As we all know, Paige was forced to retire, last year courtesy of a neck injury. She claimed of never coming back to in-ring competition, ever.

However, when it comes to the WWE in-ring competitions, you can never say never. This is rumors are going on that the creative team may have had set up a potential return for the former Divas Champion through the angle on Raw. After all, there must be a reason why she will no more be playing the managerial role for the Kabuki Warriors.

Mike Johnson stated on PW Insider Elite audio that he wonders if the opening angle of this week’s Raw was a set up of a future plan for Paige. After the dismissal as the Kabuki Warriors’ manager, she does not have a TV role, for now? So what could be waiting next for her career? An in-ring return or one final match could be the next in line for her as per the source,

“What if this was an angle to set up her potential return? I know she was medically disqualified to return to the ring, we’ve talked about that many times.”

“Daniel Bryan got an opportunity to return to the ring. She just had another neck surgery. Perhaps this is an angle to set up a return later in the year or early next year. Maybe she comes back for one last match. Maybe it’s a possibility.”

As mentioned here, Paige has undergone a neck surgery earlier this year which was said to be successful. Superstars like Daniel Bryan and Stone Cold Steve Austin also suffered the same concussion but managed to get back wrestling stint, afterward.

Another Hall of Famer Edge with the same injury may be waiting to get back to action, as well. So you never know whether the tough female athlete and the first-ever NXT Women’s Champion may get the green signal to be back in action.
