Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg was the first match that was booked for WrestleMania 33. The match was booked just two weeks after the 30th annual Royal Rumble.
Goldberg defeated Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series in only 1 minute 26 seconds. It was a big shocker as fans were left absolutely spellbound after this incident.
Even a bigger shocker came at the Royal Rumble match when Goldberg entered the Rumble match as the entry number 28 and as soon as he entered the ring, he eliminated Brock Lesnar.
Just the night after Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar came out to Monday Night Raw with his on screen advocate Paul Heyman and threw a challenge to Goldberg for WrestleMania.
The very next week, Goldberg arrived on Monday Night Raw and accepted Brock Lesnar’s challenge to face him at WrestleMania.
At Fastlane, Goldberg challenged WWE Universal champion Kevin Owens for the title and defeated him in only 22 seconds to become the new champion.
Brock Lesnar and Goldberg will now headline WrestleMania not only in a regular singles match but for the Universal championship.
According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Brock Lesnar will beat Goldberg at WrestleMania and will win the Universal championship.
This is possibly the last time these two athletes will go head to head, and maybe the last time we’ll see Goldberg in action. Fans criticized the WWE for making Goldberg the Universal champion. There is a slim chance of Goldberg competing after WrestleMania, and this is the biggest reason that he’ll lose the world title.
