Former WWE champion and ECW champion Rob Van Dam has not been seen in WWE since 2014. His last appearance was on the Slammy awards of 2014. From last two consecutive years, he has been involved in the Independent circuit.

So what to expect from the 46-year-old upon return? Surely, he will not be given any main event push but will definitely be a solid boost for the mid card status.
Van Dam is a former six time WWE Intercontinental champion and has always been a great mid card fit. Since the very beginning of his WWE career, he has been treated as a mid carder and things really went good for him.
Hopefully, he will be added into a mid card division in any roster. His inclusion can elevate the mid card situation of WWE. Smackdown would be the greater brand for Van Dam since they seriously needed some good babyfaces in their mid card.
