This week’s Smackdown held the first night of the 2021 draft. Michael Cole announced that the draft picks would change their brands after the Crown Jewel pay per view event. Before that, they would stay with respective brands only.
Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce came out to the arena to host the draft. They announced that Smackdown and RAW both have decided to keep their respective world champions. So Roman Reigns would stay at SmackDown and Big E would stay at RAW. Charlotte Flair was drafted to Smackdown next and Bianca Belair was drafted to RAW. That was it for the first round.

WWE Smackdown 01.10.21 Results & Ratings
WWE Universal Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns came out to the arena along with Paul Heyman. They took 5 minutes to complete their entrance. Roman demanded acknowledgement from the fans. Paul Heyman insulted the fans then he talked about Roman Reigns vs. The Demon match from Extreme Rules, he spoke on how Roman defeated the unbeaten streak of the Demon.
He then talked about his match against Brock Lesnar that would take place at Crown Jewel pay per view. He said that there would be no suplex city but Roman would conquer the beast. Brock Lesnar came out to the arena. He entered the ring as the two individual started fighting. Brock Lesnar eat to German Suplexes as Roman escaped. The Usos tried to attack Lesnar but got beaten down.
Match 1 – Happy Corbin defeated Kevin Owens
Riddick Moss had been renamed as Madcap Moss who stood by Corbin’s side during the match. About the match, it was mostly dominated by Owens but at the end Corbin capitalised and pinned him clean.
On the second round of the draft lottery, Smackdown selected Drew McIntyre and The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods). RAW on the other hand decided to keep The RAW Tag Team Champions RK-Bro and selected the Rated R Superstar Edge.

Edge came out to the arena. Is that you are super excited about getting drafted to RAW. But before going to raw he would finish his job with Seth Rollins. Rollins was seen on the big screen. He was revealed to be standing outside of Edge’s house. Edge ran out to catch him. Seth entered Edge’s house, and kept taking his things. Nobody was home. Edge was seen calling Beth not to go to the house since Seth was there.
Carmella vs. Liv Morgan could never take place and the whole segment was really bad. They were about to have a match but Carmella decided not to fight because Liv might ruin her face. So she decided to wear a mask and beat down Liv Morgan.
On the third round of the draft, the blue brand of WWE decided to keep Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss and selected to take the entire stable of Hit Row from the NXT. Monday Night RAW on the other hand decided to keep WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Rhea Ripley and Nikki ASH and Keith Lee.
Match 2 – Eight Man Tag Team Match – The Street Profits and The New Day defeated Robert Roode, Dolph Ziggler and the Alpha Academy
This eight man Tag Team match was not bad. It was short but watchable. The heel side was portrayed as the stronger side but the face side came out victorious at the end. Xavier Woods pinned Robert Roode to pick up the victory for his side.
In the fourth and last round of the draft of night 1, the blue brand of WWE decided to keep Naomi (the expression of Sonya Deville was amazing during announcing her name) and selected Jeff Hardy from RAW. On the other hand, Monday Night RAW selected Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio from the blue side and Austin Theory from NXT. Austin Theory was a jobber at NXT, imagine what would happen to him at RAW. Maybe there picking him for the 24/7 Championship chase.

Match 3 – Sasha Banks defeated Bianca Belair
This was the main event of the night, and it was of course the best match of the night. There was nothing much to select from as there was only three matches this week on the Friday Night show. Becky helped Sasha from outside as she caught Bianca’s hair and Sasha took the advantage of the situation by pinning her with a roll up.
After the match, the new draft pick the RAW Women’s champion Charlotte Flair beat down both Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair. Both Women’s champion Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch posed with their respective titles as the show went off the air.
