This week’s Smackdown did an excellent job in building promotion for Summerslam which is scheduled for tomorrow. The main focus of the show is to create hype for Summerslam and nothing else. They did a great job in building the hype and about the show itself, it was pretty entertaining too.
LA Knight had an excellent showdown with Sheamus and he received the much needed victory. It would have been a big push for him prior to his SummerSlam Battle Royal participation. We seriously hope he goes on to beat Austin Theory to win the WWE United States Championship soon. No way WWE should choke off his craze.
WWE SmackDown 03.07.2023 – The Good, The Bad, And The Unforgettable: Ups & Downs Of The Show
A number of top stars remained missing from the show since they had to get ready for Summerslam. Of course, Roman Reigns was not present in the show which we do not have to mention seperately. We can only see him tomorrow where he would definitely beat Jey Uso. But they still, they did a very good promotion for the Universal Heavyweight Championship match.
The main event of the night between Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa was pretty good. It did an excellent job to promote the main event of tomorrow’s big event. There were some other stars who remained missing from action as well. None of the participants from the women’s championship match were present but they did a good job to promote the match using different video packages.
Jey Uso Would Face Tomorrow On Summerslam
To promote the women’s championship match tomorrow, the video packages they used were made keeping in mind the video packages used to promote Ronda Rousey – Shayna Baszler feud. Tonight’s package was good as well and it’s somehow covered the absence of the women involved in the mentioned match.
The best segment of the night has to be Bayley – Shotzi segment. It was excellently booked and both women showed what they were capable of. Shotzi especially did an amazing job to build her new character. We hope WWE promotes her as a top star after this feud because she rightfully deserves it.
The debut of the new faction with Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits looked really fascinating too. It had been teased for a number of weeks and it finally made their debut this week on Smackdown. We have high expectations from this faction.
The worst part of the night was Iyo Sky losing another match. Since she is holding the Money in the Bank contract, she should receive a strong build and not lose every week. And it was not a very hard fought win for Zelina Vega either, it did not even take three minutes. It clearly shows that WWE does not have any vision for Iyo Sky at this moment.
