This week’s SmackDown started as footage from last week was shown where Sami Zayn became the number one contender for the WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship and it was also announced that the suspension on Brock Lesnar has been lifted.
The show started as Brock Lesnar came out to the arena. While he was about to talk about his suspension lift, Sami Zayn made an interference. Sami said that he was a fan of Brock and both of them had a lot in common.

Brock asked him to shut up and said he really had the balls to interrupt him. Sami reminded him that he was the no. 1 contender for the Universal title and he would be facing Roman Reigns at Day 1. Brock forced him to ask him fot his match tonight. Sami did not want it tonight but he had no other choices.
Match 1 – Sasha Banks defeated Shayna Baszler
The match was five minutes long and it was good. It was dominated by Shayna Baszler. As she was closing in on a victory, Sasha pinned her with a school girl roll up.
Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss welcomed everyone to Happy Talk. They mentioned the battle royal last week and made fun of Jeff Hardy and Drew McIntyre. Jeff and Drew came out and beat down Corbin and Moss.
Match 2 – Los Lotharios defeated The Viking Raiders
The match was very short. Nakamura and Boogs tried to distract Lotharios but instead they distracted Viking Raiders and they got pinned. We seriously do not understand the point behind pushing Los Lotharios.
Match 3 – King Woods defeated Jey Uso by DQ
Another short match. In two minutes time Jimmy Uso interfered and the match went to DQ. Kofi Kingston made his return before this match as the two teams fought each other and it marked a feud between the two teams.
Charlotte Flair came out to the arena. She mentioned Toni Storm and talked embarrassing her last week. She also said that she was no match for her. As she was departing from the ring, Toni Storm came out and smashed a pie on Charlotte’s face. The moon was slightly botched. Toni mostly smashed the pie on Charlotte’s head than face.
Match 4 – Sheamus defeated Cesaro
It was a four minute long match and it looks like the push for Cesaro is done and dusted. It was the clean win for Sheamus who pinned Cesaro with the Brogue Kick.
Match 5 – WWE Universal Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns defeated Sami Zayn to retain
A lot of things took place after Sami Zayn made his entrance. RAW rebound was shown, a match between Shayna Baszler and Naomi became official for next week. And after that Brock Lesnar came out and beatdown Sami Zayn badly. Roman Reigns then came out and easily defeated Sami. Roman Reigns celebrated with his title as this week’s Smackdown went off air.
Overall, it was a good week of Smackdown. The presence of Brock Lesnar brought a different horizon to this week. Once again all the feuds except the Intercontinental Championship were getting well built. The Smackdown Women’s Championship feud buildup is a little weak as well. We give it 3 stars out of 5.
