Backstage on Smackdown Xavier Woods and Madcap Moss was scene playing WWE 2K23 on PlayStation 5. LA Knight interfered them and started complaining about not having a WrestleMania 39 booking. Woods said that how about having a match against him tonight rather than complaining. Knight accepted and broke Woods’ controller.
WWE Legend Triple H came out to the arena. It was already announced that the former 14 times world champion would be here on SmackDown as well. First he talked about the greatness of WrestleMania and the records that they broke this year. He talked about what a huge show WrestleMania 39 was.

Then he announced a great news that the WWE Draft would return in a number of weeks. For the last number of years, there had been no WWE Draft but Superstar Shake Up. With it all looks like that WWE are getting rid of the brand extension, the news of the draft could be exciting. We seriously hope that they do the hard brand split like they did in the early days of the Ruthless Aggression Era. After the promo introduced the new WWE SmackDown Women’s champion Rhea Ripley.
Rhea Ripley came out with the full team of the Judgement Day. She talked about her amazing victory at WrestleMania 39 and said that she accomplished the impossible when she defeated Charlotte Flair. The crowd was really supportive towards the new WWE SmackDown Women’s champion.
Finn Balor grabbed the mic next and addressed Edge. He said that he was still here tonight and Edge was nowhere to be seen. Next, it was the turn of Dominik Mysterio and the crowd was super aggressive towards him. He received the hardest negative reaction ever. This will go down as one of the hardest negative reaction ever for any wrestler in professional wrestling history.
It was really difficult for Dominic Mysterio to say anything in from the crowd. He tried really hard but the crowd was adamant that they would not let him talk. His teammates kept on encouraging him. He tried to say that he was kind towards his father that was why he went soft on his father. But his father was not kind to him at all. At the end he said that his father and the rest of his family could go to hell.
Next they showed the footage how Bad Bunny helped Rey Mysterio to overcome his own son at WrestleMania 39. They also showed the footage from this week of Monday Night RAW Damian Priest attacked Bad Bunny and put him through the announce table. Priest then said that he had no remorse for what he did to Bad Bunny on Monday Night RAW.
Match 3 – The Judgment Day defeated Santos Escobar and Rey Mysterio
This match was booked for eight minutes and it was one of the better matches of the night. Dominik was presented as the weakest competitor of the match. But Damian Priest snatched a very strong victory at the end when he single handedly eliminated Rey from the ring and pinned Santos Escobar with a Sit Out Chokeslam.
