This week’s SmackDown started as footage from WrestleMania 39 was shown. But tonight’s footage was shorter than the one that was shown on Monday Night RAW. Triple H would be appearing on tonight’s show that was already announced earlier. After the terrible episode of RAW, we are hoping to get a better show tonight.
Match 1 – The Brawling Brutes defeated Imperium

We kick things off with a reminder with a really good feud from last year. Why are we having this match tonight? Are they reigniting the feud between Gunther and Sheamus? At WWE WrestleMania 39 Sheamus was protected as well. Maybe this is their exact plan.
About the match it was pretty fun. This match was booked for eight minutes and from the very first minute it was pretty fast. Every time these two teams go face to face you can expect a very physical affair, and that was exactly what this match was. Sheamus pinned Giovanni Vinci with The Brogue Kick. It was a pretty entertaining match.
Next up we saw a full recap of the main event segment of Monday Night RAW last week where Brock Lesnar was scheduled to team up with Cody Rhodes against the team of Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. But Brock Lesnar turned on his own partner Cody Rhodes and beat him down.
Backstage Paul Heyman was interviewed by Keyla Braxton where he was asked if he knew anything about the attack of Brock Lesnar on Cody Rhodes last week on RAW. Heyman said that there were more relevant things to talk about like the tribal chief Roman Reigns. Jey Uso met him who was scheduled to face Sami Zayn later tonight.
He asked Paul Heyman where his brother was since he did not get to see him tonight. Heyman informed him that his brother was not here tonight and the tribal chief wanted him to take care of the Sami Zayn problem all by himself. Jey left the place after hearing it, Heyman told Solo that either he solved their problems or Solo would have to do it.
Match 1 – Ricochet defeated Ivar
This match was booked for only four minutes and it was a good match. None of their Tag Team partners were present during the match. But Valhalla was on Ivar’s corner, who failed to provide much help. Ricichet pinned Ivar with the Shooting Star Press and it was not a very difficult victory for him.
Backstage Sami Zayn met his Tag Team partner Kevin Owens where he said that he was really excited to be a part of tonight’s SmackDown since they appeared as the Tag Team Champions on the first episode of Smackdown after WrestleMania 39. But he was still a little confused about the situation with Jey Uso. Clearly he still had a soft corner left for him. Kevin Owens told him that he had to get out of this situation as fast as possible.
Match 2 – Raquel Rodriguez anf Liv Morgan defeated Shotzi and Natalya
Good to see women are getting some booking as there were really minimal women affair in the recent months of the episodes of RAW and Smackdown. About this match it was nothing special. It was just a filler of three minutes. Morgan pinned Shotzi with The Oblivi
