Next on Smackdown, WWE Women’s Champion Asuka came out to the arena. As soon as she said no one is ready for Asuka, Bianca Belair came out and attacked her straight. Charlotte Flair also came out and Bianca went outside of the ring to fight her. Asuka was left alone in the ring as the other two kept fighting outside.
As Asuka was preparing for a high risk maneuver, Iyo Sky and Bayley attacked her from behind. The duo beat down the Women’s champion, Iyo was about to cash in her contract but Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair attacked both Iyo and Bayley. Asuka escaped during this chaos as Iyo failed to cash in her contract. She still has it intact. It was an amazing segment.
WWE SmackDown 07.07.2023 Results Part 3, Women’s Title Segment, MITB Cash In Attempt, Edge In Action, Jey Uso Attacks Roman Reigns
This would have been a great lesson for Monday Night RAW on how to book a proper women’s segment. As we have all seen that RAW Women’s division had been absolutely awful since WWE WrestleMania 39. At least SmackDown is trying something, and this week they were pretty good.
Match 3 – Edge defeated Grayson Waller
Jey Uso Challenged Roman Reigns In A One On One Match
This was the main event match of the night and it was booked for around 11 minutes. It was an excellent match overall and both performers did their best in this match. It is always good to see Edge in action, it was also Grayson Waller’s first match on the main roster. Edge pinned him with a Spear.
Backstage Paul Heyman entered the locker room of Roman Reigns and inform him that Jey Uso was back here in Madison Square Garden and he was looking for him. Roman replied that he did not have to look long because he is Tribal Chief would meet him shortly.
Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, and Paul Heyman were seen standing inside the ring. Jey Uso’s music and he came out through the crowd. Solo Sikoa stood in front of the barricade and Jey attacked him straight. As he entered the ring with a steel chair to attack Roman Reigns, Solo came in to save Roman.
As Jey turned his attention to Solo, Roman escaped. Jey delivered a massive beat down to his youngest brother using the steel chair. As Solo was completely out, Jey picked up the Universal title that was left inside the ring by Roman. He said that there would be trial by combat, and he would meet Roman in a one on one match. Jey Uso stood inside the ring and Roman Reigns remained on the stage as this week’s Smackdown went off air.
