This week’s Smackdown started as Bianca Blair was seen making her entrance and getting inside the ring. Sasha Banks and the WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch were already seen in the arena but not inside the ring. The stage was decorated like it was going to be the contract signing of their triple threat match for the WWE Crown Jewel pay per view event.
Sonya Deville introduced all three women individually. Promo videos was shown for each one of them. Each of them talked about the incidents from the past. In the end Bianca Belair both of them to come into the ring. They all fought with each other inside the ring, Bianca at the end put both of them through a table.
WWE Smackdown 08.10.2021 Results & Ratings
Match 1 – King of the Ring Tournament Round 1 – Sami Zayn defeated Rey Mysterio
We were expecting at least a sixteen man tournament, instead we will be having an 8 man tournament just like the recent years. The first match was good, it was booked for nearly seven minutes, and Rey got pinned by Sami by a roll up.
Seth Rollins – Edge was described via promo package. We hope the feud gets ended while they are in SmackDown, it should not continue after they move to RAW.
Match 2 – Queen’s Crown Tournament Round 1 – Zelina Vega defeated Toni Storm
It was quite a shocking result. Toni Storm who dominated the entire NXT is having to job to Zelina Vega in the main roster. The match was booked for only two minutes and Zelina pinned Toni with a Flip Backdrop.
The Bloodline came out to the arena. Roman Reigns first demanded acknowledgement from the home crowd of San Jose. Then he accused Paul Heyman for helping Brock Lesnar to be a free agent. Paul Heyman denying the claim and said that was not stupid to do something against Roman Reigns. Roman asked Paul to address Brock. Paul said Roman would conquer Brock at Crown Jewel and would dominate him.
Match 3 – Queen’s Crown Tournament Round 2 – Carmella defeated Liv Morgan
What the hell is going on? Carmella and Zelina Vega are in the semi final? You mean one of these two prime losers will be heading to the final? This is really bizarre that they completely ruined the push of Liv Morgan.
Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss welcomed the fans to the Happy Talk where they were having a fun time with cutting jokes and all. Kevin Owens came out and started beating up the duo. First he beat down Mas cap Moss outside of the Ring. As he attacked Corbin inside the ring, Moss entered the ring and the duo beat down Kevin Owens.
Backstage Naomi confronted Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville and demanded an explanation why she was not given a chance to compete in the Queen’s Crown tournament. Sonya said because she did not deserve it and she made a match between Naomi and herself next week on SmackDown.
Match 4 – King of the Ring Tournament Round 2 – Finn Balor defeated Cesaro
Indeed, it was the best match of the night. The match was booked for only seven minutes but it was an excellent match. Balor pinned Cesaro with his finisher Coup De Grace to earn the victory for himself.
Seth Rollins came out for the main event segment of the night. Rollins called out Edge to answer his challenge. He kept on provoking Edge so that he answer his challenge. He said if Edge did not come out he would take that as an admission that he was better than him.
Edge was seen entering the hall in his car. He came out in the arena and entered the ring delivering a Spear on Seth. He started beating down Seth but somehow Seth escaped. Edge then challenged Seth Rollins in a Hell in a Cell match. Edge stared at the shocked Seth Rollins as this week’s Smackdown went off air.
Overall, it was a good week of Smackdown but there was no match except of the tournament matches. And how come Zelina Vega and Carmella got into the semi final of the tournament? That means one of these women is going to the final? Is it even sound exciting by any means? Naomi vs. Sonya Deville could have been booked better as well, it should have been a pay per view match. But it also faced a very weak booking. Edge-Seth segment was the best part though. We give it 2 stars out of 5.
