Adam Pearce started the next segment of Smackdown where he presented the new WWE Women’s Championship to Asuka. It was just a carbon copy of the new Universal Championship, just in white. If the RAW Women’s Championship would now be addressed as just the Women’s Championship, what would be the new name of the SmackDown Women’s Championship?
As Asuka was celebrating with her new Championship, Charlotte Flair made her shocking return. She entered the ring and demanded a shot at the new WWE Women’s Championship. The segment ended with Asuka failing to hit the myst of Charlotte and Charlotte returned the favour with a Big Boot. So there would be a triple threat match for the Women’s title?

Backstage on Smackdown Paul Heyman was seen trying to manipulate Jey Uso more by giving him greed of being the Tribal Chief in the near future. He also said that next week there would be a celebration of him winning the United States Championship. Jey Uso said that Heyman should not be very happy about it, because if Jey would be in the Bloodline, Heyman would be out of it.
Backstage Adam Pearce was seen talking over the phone once again where he was making a Women’s championship match official between Asuka and Charlotte Flair for the night before Money in the Bank. Bianca Belair confronted her and Pearce said that he had her words so she would get her opportunity as well.
Charlotte Flair Returns To Challenge Asuka For The New Women’s Title
Match 3 – Money in the Bank qualifying match – Butch defeated Baron Corbin
This match was booked for less than 2 minutes and it was an easy win for Butch. He pinned Corbin with a creative pin from which Corbin failed to answer. Carmelo Hayes was in the audience seat to see Corbin. After the match, the duo got involved in a fight and the officials had to come out to stop them.
Backstage Butch was being interviewed where he was asked about his feelings to be participating in his first ever Money in the Bank ladder match. Baron Corbin interfered and said that it was not fair since Carmelo Hayes was there to distract him. Cameron Grimes attacked Corbin from behind. So Corbin is involved in two feuds right now.
Match 4 – Money in the Bank qualifying match – Iyo Sky defeated Shotzi
The last money in the bank qualifying match of the night was pretty short like the rest of them and it was an easy victory for the Japanese professional wrestler. She, however, received assistance from Bayley and then she pinned Shotzi with a Moonsault. We must not forget that she is the favourite to win this match this year.
