This week’s SmackDown started as former two times WWE World Champion Drew McIntyre came out to the arena for the first contest of the night. Attractions of the night were shown one by one including the Intercontinental championship match, Money in the Bank qualifying match, and other exciting matches.
Match 1 – Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus went to double disqualification

WWE SmackDown 10.06.2022 Results & Ratings
This was a Money in the Bank qualifying match and it was booked for over 10 minutes. It was quite a fun match. These two European dudes never fail to impress whenever they went one on one. Ridge Holland was not beside Sheamus for some reason and it was not been confirmed why. At the end of the match, both wrestlers attacked each other with steel chairs and the match went to double DQ.
Footage from last week’s Monday Night RAW segment between Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins was the shown. And it was also shown how Seth attacked Cody at the end of the segment. Then give the shocking and the most terrible news, Cody Rhodes is out of action for at least nine months.
Match 2 – Lacey Evans defeated Xia Li
This was the second Money in the Bank qualifying match and it was booked for two and a half minutes. And what’s with the finisher of Lacey Evans? Just a punch to the face? That was it? She literally pinned Xia with a punch to the face. That was really disappointing.

WWE SmackDown Women’s champion Ronda Rousey came out to the arena. She talked about her upcoming match with Natalya that will take place at Money in the Bank. Shotzi interrupted her and challenged her for a match. Ronda accepted the challenge.
Match 3 – Ronda Rousey defeated Shotzi
This match was booked for seven and a half minutes and it was a no where near a domination by Ronda. Shotzi dominated a good part of the match but at the end, she had no other choice but to submit to the Cross Armbar. After the match, Natalya attacked Ronda and punished her with the Sharp Shooter.
Match 4 – WWE Intercontinental championship – Gunther defeated Ricochet to become new champion
Having new Champions is always a special thing. But this one was quite predictable. The intercontinental championship had been the worst booked Championship of WWE since WrestleMania 37. Ricochet could not be anything special as a champion. We hope Gunther turns out to be a good champion.

Match 5 – Riddle defeated Sami Zayn
There was an added stipulation for this match as if Sami Zayn wins he would be out of Friday Night Smackdown, and if Riddle wins, he would be given and Universal Championship opportunity.
About the match, it was really good. It had been booked for 10 minutes and nobody in particular dominated the match. It was a fun and well paced match. At the end, Riddle pinned Sami Zayn with an RKO.
After the match, The Usos attacked Riddle but Riddle fought back with a Kendo Stick. He beat them down and drove them out of the Ring. So the Universal Championship match is on next week. Riddle celebrated as this week’s SmackDown went off air.
It was not a bad episode of Smackdown but a little disappointing one. At least there was a World championship segment without the World champion himself. It would be interesting to know what WWE has planned for Sami Zayn after this. Max Dupri was scheduled to unvail the first member of the Maximum Male Models but he could not do it because of travelling issue in Europe. We give it 1.5 stars out of 5.
