This week’s Smackdown started as Sonya Deville introduced the members of the blue brand’s women’s team for Survivor Series Smackdown vs. RAW match. They were Shotzi, Natalya, Shayna Baszler, Aliyah and Sasha Banks had been announced as the team captain.
As soon as the introduction was over, Naomi interfered and attacked Shayna Baszler. Sasha Banks and Shotzi also started fighting each other. An open fight broke and everyone started fighting each other for no reason.

Match 1 – Sasha Banks, Naomi and Aliyah defeated Natalya, Shayna Baszler and Shotzi
Instantly, the faces and the heels got booked in a six woman tag team match. The match was booked for ten minutes and it was quite good. At the end, Aliyah totally dominated Natalya and pinned her. Naomi should have got the pin for the sake of the storyline.
Next up was a backstage segment between Sami Zayn and Jeff Jarrett. Sami was just hilarious in this segment.
Backstage Aliyah was getting interviewed where she was informed by Sonya Deville that she had been removed from the Smackdown team for Survivor Series.
Match 2 – Los Lotharios defeated WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs
The match might have been dominated by the babyface side but the heels got the last laugh. Angel Garza pinned Nakamura for the victory. It is so unfortunate that they are totally burying the prestigious IC title.
Charlotte Flair came out to the arena. she cut a promo on Becky Lynch whom she would face at Survivor Series. Then she said that she could beat anyone on the roster. Toni Storm came out and reminded her that she did not defend her title since joining SmackDown and she challenged for the title. Charlotte said, “Absolutely not” and left.
Match 3 – Jeff Hardy defeated Sami Zayn
The match was given a stipulation where the loser of the match would be removed from the Survivor Series team of the blue brand. So Zayn was now removed after losing the match. Jeff pinned Sami with a Swanton Bomb.
Match 4 – King Woods defeated Roman Reigns by DQ
After a number of backstage segments, we head towards the main event of the show. The match was almost won by Woods. He even hit his finisher on Roman. And as he was about to pin him, Usos pulled him out and beat him down. The Bloodline stood tall this week’s Smackdown went off air.
Overall, it was an average week of the Friday night show. Once again there was no booking for the Intercontinental championship, neither anything for the Tag Team titles. Roman Reigns almost losing to Xavier Woods does not make any sense. We give it 2.5 out of 5.
