This week’s SmackDown started as Edge entered the arena. Footage from last week was shown where Seth Rollins disrespected Edge. Edge was seen sitting inside the ring. He said that the Curb Stomp would have ended his life if he got hit by that around 7 years ago. But the time has changed, this time he was back and he would destroy Rollins at SummerSlam.
Match 1 – Jey Uso defeated Rey Mysterio

This was an eight minute long match and it was quite fun to watch. Dominik tried to assist Rey with the pin fall which was seen by the referee this time and this distracted Rey as Jey pinned him with the Usos Splash.
Match 2 – Baron Corbin defeated Kevin Owens by DQ
The match was fun but as a segment. During the match, Big E interfered to get his money in the bank contract and Corbin once again tried to escape with the briefcase but Big E stopped him and beating him down. Somehow Corbin managed to escape with the contract.
Match 3 – Shotzi and Nox defeated Natalya and Tamina
The match was just to build a new tag team rivalry. Good to see Natalya back to action once again who took the pinfall. Shotzi pinned Natalya with the roll up.
Seth Rollins came out to the arena to cut a promo on his match against Edge at Summerslam. He kept insulting Edge and said he had no Chance at SummerSlam against him. The important part of the promo was blood bath that Edge gave Rollins in the old fashioned style of the Brood. It was not blood though, because of PG reasons.
Match 4 – Otis defeated Montez Ford
Another progress in this tag team feud through this match even though it was completely dominated by Otis. He pinned Montez Ford with a Body Splash.
Match 5 – Rick Boogs and King Nakamura defeated Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez
Rick Boogs was in action for the first time in WWE under his new gimmick and he got a good timing to show what he was capable of. And it was him who picked up the victory for his side. He pinned Apollo Crews with a Pump Handle Slam.
Match 6 – Bianca Belair defeated Zelina Vega and Carmella in a two on one gauntlet match
It was actually a series of two matches and both of the matches were won by Bianca Belair. Zelina Vega was the first opponent who was totally dominated by Belair. Carmella gave a good fight but at the end, Bianca pinned Carmella with the Kiss of Death. The second match was very good.
Roman Reigns and John Cena for the main event segment of the night. Roman Reigns reminded he was not beaten in the recent time and there was no chance Cena would be beating him at Summerslam. Cena said Roman had no chance at Summerslam and his 17th world title reign was coming at the event.
Roman said he would have gone to Hollywood as well if he wanted to. Roman then made a shocking announcement. She said if he could not beat Cena at SummerSlam he would leave the WWE. Cena stood as the stronger man as this week’s SmackDown went off air.
Overall the event was good. But this could not be enough to compete with AEW Rampage since CM Punk has made his debut at the show. WWE has to come up with bigger things to compete with AEW now. This week good, but not enough to stand by AEW. We give it 2.5 stars out of 5
