This week’s SmackDown started as footage from last week was shown where Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins had a face to face conversation and the discussion went heated at the end. Rollins escaped the beating at the end.
WWE SmackDown Tag Team champions The Usos were seen standing inside the ring. They congratulated Roman Reigns for becoming the longest reigning WWE Universal Heavyweight champion and then they introduced the Tribal Chief.

Roman Reigns came out to the arena. As he entered the ring, a video footage of his entire reign was shown, Braun Strowman and Daniel Bryan got cameo appearances in that video. Honestly it feels bad to see them, especially Bryan.
Before Roman could say anything Seth Rollins interfered. He played mind games with Roman and said whatever he has accomplished till now a lot of credit goes to the Usos for doing his little dirty works.
He then challenged the Usos tag team match where is Rollins good when they would be barred from the ring side at Royal Rumble. Kevin Owens was revealed to be the Tag Team partner of Rollins at the match was on for the main event of the night.
Match 1 – Kofi Kingston defeated Madcap Moss
It was a rematch from last week and Big E was present in Kofi’s corner during this week’s match. The match booked for four minutes and Kofi Kingston pinned Madcap Moss with the Trouble in Paradise finishing maneuver.
Match 2 – Aliyah defeated Natalya by DQ
Last week Natalya was defeated by Aliyah in a record 3.17 seconds time. It was a rematch from last week. Summer Rae was in the crowd during this match. Throughout the match Aliyah kept on trying to pin Natty with roll ups but at the end Natty got disqualified as she did not listen to the referee. After the match she kept on beating down Aliyah, Xia Li came out and saved her.
Match 3 – the Viking Raiders defeated Los Lotharios
The match was booked for two minutes and Viking Raiders literally squashed Lotharios. If they would be treated as jobbers only, why did they get back to back wins over Nakamura? Eric pinned Humberto for the win.
Match 4 – Charlotte Flair defeated Naomi by submission
Sonya Deville announced herself to be the referee of this match and once again sea cost her Naomi the match. Charlotte locked Naomi in the figure 4 leg lock, Naomi did not even tap but Sonya called for the bell.
List of segment between Sami Zayn and Johnny Knoxville. It was quite entertaining but not much important. It was just book to promote the Royal Rumble pay per view event which is scheduled for next Saturday.
Match 5 – Sheamus defeated Ricochet
It was an easy victory for Sheamus as he dominated the most part of the match. The whole match was booked for three minutes. Sheamus pinned Ricochet with the Brogue Kick.
Match 6 – Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens defeated The Usos by DQ
Undoubtedly it was the best match of the night. The match was booked for over 10 minutes and it was a pay per view standard match. Rollins and Owens was in the driving seat of the match. As Rollins was about to pin Jimmy Uso, Roman Reigns came out and attacked Rollins. This led to a DQ win for Rollins’ side. Roman Reigns stood tall as this week’s SmackDown went off air.
Overall it was not a bad show. The appearances of the Hall of Famers such as Eric Bischoff, Jeff Jarrett and Kid Rock made the episode really special. But what happened to the intercontinental championship match of Sami Zayn? No answer to that yet. About the matches, there was nothing special. Segments were not that great either. We give it 2 stars out of 5.
