This week’s SmackDown started as Kayla Braxton was seen standing inside the ring. She welcomed everyone to the post-Thanksgiving episode of Friday Night Smackdown. She was about to talk about the rumors of Brock Lesnar’s suspension lift but she was interrupted by the music of Roman Reigns.
Footage from Survivor Series was shown where WWE Universal Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns defeated WWE Champion Big E in a champion vs champion match. Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman entered the ring.

Paul Heyman rebuked Kayla Braxton and accused her for using Brock Lesnar’s name to gain personal fame. He kept on insulting her and at the end he wanted her out of the ring. Kayla did not wait and left.
Roman Reigns then cut a promo on Brock Lesnar and called him a loser. He called Big E a loser as well whom he defeated at Survivor Series. He then mentioned the no 1 Contender Battle Royal that would take place later tonight and mocked the match.
Match 1 – Drew McIntyre and Jeff Hardy defeated Madcap Moss and Happy Corbin
The match was booked for nearly six minutes and it was not a bad match. Good to see back to back wins for Jeff Hardy, finally WWE is taking him back from the jobber land. Jeff pinned Madcap Moss after a Swanton Bomb to win the match for his side.
Match 2 – Cesaro defeated Ridge Holland
It was the main roster in ring debut of Ridge Holland. And the match was quite short. It was even shorter than three minutes. The ending looked a little botched, Cesaro pinned Holland with a quick roll up even though It looked botched.
Match 3 – Angel defeated Rick Boogs
Angel Garza’s name has now been cut short to Angel and it sounds so awful. The push for this Mexican continues as he defeated Boogs. We seriously do not understand what is the meaning of this feud. Nakamura should be feuding for the Intercontinental title.
Charlotte Flair was interviewed by Michael Cole inside the ring. She talked about her match against Becky Lynch from Survivor Series. And she was interrupted by Toni Storm. The interrogation turned out to be physical as Charlotte came out as the stronger of the two.
Match 4 – Sasha Banks and Naomi defeated Natalya and Shayna Baszler
The match followed a backstage confrontation between Sasha Banks and Sonya Deville. The match itself was quite good. It was booked for eight minutes and Naomi was the person to take the pin on Natalya to win the match.
Match 5 – Sami Zayn won the No. 1 Contender’s Black Friday battle royal
Battle Royals are always fun to watch. No matter how they are booked it is definitely fun. It is really good to see finally Jeff Hardy getting some push. We all thought he won the match but Sami who was a participant of the Battle Royal remained outside of the ring, hidden. As Jeff thought he won the match and started to celebrate, Sami Zayn entered the ring and eliminated him to win the match.
At the end of the match Kayla Braxton announced that the suspension was lifted so there will be Brock Lesnar next week on Friday Night Smackdown and the show went off air.
Overall it was a good week of Smackdown but they still failed to book The Intercontinental championship. Something is terribly wrong with the creative team of the blue brand. The Other feuds were almost covered. We give it 2.5 stars out of 5.
