This week’s SmackDown was a mixture of good and bad spices. Most of the booking ideas were pretty good but there were some ideas that should not have been booked. The continuation of the Universal Championship build up was pretty good. They utilized Roman Reigns pretty well tonight.
They booked Jey Uso pretty strongly as well. He featured on a mega match on the main event of the show which he won pretty dominently. The aftermath of this match was also well booked. Jey tried to fight both Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa all alone but ultimately he failed and got beaten down which is a realistic booking. So this is a good piece of booking of course.

Rey Mysterio getting injured is definitely a very unfortunate thing. It was just a suicide dive from Santos Escobar, sometimes things do not go as planned. Rey Mysterio is a veteran and taking these moves are pretty easy for him. We cannot blame Escobar for it either. We wish a speedy recovery to the WWE Hall of Famer.
It was already predicted by the WWE Universe that Santos Escobar is going to win this match. But not the way it happened. We are not going to predict that he is going to win the United States Championship. We still believe LA Knight is the favourite to take the United States title away from Austin Theory and that is not happening before the next PLE after SummerSlam.
LA Knight Picked Up A Victory Last Night On Smackdown
Speaking of LA Knight, he was pretty well booked in this show. At first he got a much needed victory, then he got his own backstage segment and now he is booked against Sheamus for next week’s SmackDown. There was also the announcement of the SummerSlam Battle Royal which actually seems quite meaningless apart from having the jobbers getting some booking.
The worst segment of the night was the women’s tag team match where Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair completely destroyed the Women’s Tag Team champions in their first match after becoming champions. Not only they defeated them but completely destroyed them. It was a big time burial for the champions and the Championship.
There was absolutely no need for Charlotte and Bianca to win. They had terrible chemistry between each other still they completely dominated the Women’s Tag Team champions. Every time these two women gets involved in any kind of match they just have to win, and Roman Reigns is only overrated for the fans. This match will and should always be considered one of the worst booking decisions ever made.
