This week’s SmackDown started as it was earlier reported that Charlotte Flair might be pulled off from this week’s show. But it was the WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte who opened the show this week. As usual, she talked about her greatness and all after coming out and said the roster needed in new leader and that was her.
Sasha Banks made an interference it is said that Charlotte did not care about anyone but herself only. And she demanded a title shot. Charlotte reminded her that she was been given a lot of title shot before to her. So it should be someone new how to get the opportunity. Shotzi Backhart came out and said that she could be the one Charlotte was looking for. Charlotte given an opportunity to face her in a contender’s match.
WWE Smackdown 29/10/2021 Results & Ratings
Match 1 – Charlotte Flair defeated Shotzi Blackhart
The match was very good and it was book for nearly nine minutes. If Shotzi won, it could have been something new to see. But WWE does not care about anything but to have Charlotte Flair win every single match. They do not care about offering something new or making a new Contender, their Prime goal is to make Charlotte Flair win every single match. Shotzi was quite impressive though.
After the match Sasha Banks went to see if Shotzi was okay. But Shotzi blamed Sasha for her loss. She attacked Sasha and beat her down badly. It was earlier reported that Shotzi would be turning heel on her solo run.
Adam Pearce talked about reactions of Brock Lesnar from last week and condemned it. He announced that in addition to his suspension he would be finding Brock Lesnar a sum of 1 million dollars.
Match 2 – Drew McIntyre defeated Mustafa Ali by submission
The match was shot and he was quite an easy victory for Drew. Even though it was not a squash neither a pure domination. Mustafa had his chances. Drew McIntyre made Mustafa Ali submit with the Kimura Lock.
Next up was the royal corronation of the new king of WWE, King Xavier Woods. The New Day came out to the arena to have their celebration. Xavier’s new name was King Woods. The whole thing was entertaining. Woods announced Kofi Kingston would now be addressed as sir Kofi Kingston. The whole thing reminds of Booker T’s reign as King. The Usos interfered and ultinately a match between the Usos and New Day was announced.
Match 3 – Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss defeated Rick Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura in a Trick or Street Fight
The match was quite fun and the ending of the match offered something new. As Boogs took the control of the match, two masked guys attacked him with Kendo Sticks, Madcap Moss took the advantage of the situation and pinned him with a Neck Breaker. The two masked guys are later revealed to be Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo.
Match 4 – Shayna Baszler defeated Naomi
The match needs to be described a little since a lot of things are going on here. First of all Sonya Deville was the special guest referee for this match who did not make a count while Naomi was on the cover, as Shayna rolled the pin, Sonya quickly took the pin. Also Naomi made a botch in this match. She slipped and fall down as she was about to hit a top rope splash. After the match, Shayna knocked out Naomi with the Kirifuda Clutch.
Match 5 – The New Day defeated The Usos
It was a non title match and it was book for around eight minutes. It was a good match but there was nothing special about it to be a main event of any show. Besides this is not something new that the WWE universe was seeing. Xavier Woods, or better say King Woods took the pin fall to win the match for his side. clearly a tag team feud between the duo is next. The New Day celebrated as this week SmackDown is went off air.
Overall, it was not a bad show. They tried to offer something new in cases of some storylines. Shotzi Blackhart got a chance, the role of Humberto and Garza was confusing, where would the feud between Naomi and Sonya head from here? These things would be interesting to look forward. But New Day vs. Usos was not a worthy main event. And they should not go with the feud between Charlotte and Sasha once again. We give it 3 stars out of 5.
