This week’s Smackdown started as John Cena came out to the arena. He welcomed the fans and crowd to the show. He reminded that this week Roman Reigns would sign a contract with Finn Balor for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam and Cena was out of the match.
He loathed on Roman for it. He mentioned Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Rock and compared himself with them by saying as if they made their return and had nothing to do.

Baron Corbin interfere had and said he had something to say to Cena. Tina said he had no idea who he was. Then he recognized him and said and he looked horrible. Corbin said he was actually going through a horrible time and he asked Cena to help him.
Cena gave him some money. Call been said that could not be enough. He asked for the role in Cena’s next movie. When he did not get a satisfactory answer from Cena, she called him selfish and Hollywood sell out. Cena hit the AA on Corbin and left.
Match 1 – Rey Mysterio defeated Jimmy Uso
The match was booked for around five minutes and it was good. There were interferences from both Jey Uso and Dominic Mysterio throughout the match. In the end, Rey pinned Jimmy the same way Dominic was pinned at Money in the Bank.
WWE SmackDown Women’s champion Bianca Belair came out to the arena. She was interviewed by Kayla Braxton inside the ring. She was in celebration mood for successfully surpassing hundred days as a champion.
Carmella interfered and interfered and demanded a shot at the title. Zelina Vega interefered and also demanded a title shot. They teamed up and started beating down Bianca. Sasha Banks made her return and came out in the aid of Bianca. She saved Bianca and hugged her.
Match 2 – WWE 24/7 Championship – Reginald defeated Chad Gable by DQ
Chad Gable was a surprise opponent for Reginald. Once again Reggie showed Some excellent high flying skills. When he was about to pin Chad Gable, Otis interfered and Gable was disqualified.
Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville were seen standing inside the ring next for the official contract signing between Roman Reigns and Finn Balor for the WWE Universal championship match. Finn Balor and Roman Reigns came out one by one and sat down.
Roman provoked Finn against Cena and said Roman believed Finn was worthy. He also said that he would destroy him and send him back to the NXT. Finn said that it would be an honour for him to return to NXT with the Universal title.
As Finn Balor was about to sign the contract, Baron Corbin attacked him. He beat him down and tried to sign the contract. John Cena interfered and drove out Corbin to sign the contract.
Match 3 – Big E, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Apollo Crews, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode
This was a good six man action. Nakamura’s entrance was once again really fun with Pat McAfee dancing and the crowd singing. Nakamura pinned Apollo to earn the victory for his side.
Edge came out to the arena next. As he was about to enter the ring Seth Rollins attacked him and beat him down. Rollins entered the ring and if he could not get a Universal title shot then neither could Edge.
Match 4 – Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks defeated Zelina Vega and Carmella
It was a dominant victory for the winning side. It may have a good impact on the story line but the match was not good enough as the main event of any show. Sasha Banks made Carmella submit with the Banks Statement for the win and she paid tribute to Eddie Guerrero. After the match, Sasha turned heel as she attacked Bianca and beat her down. Sasha Banks stood tall with the title as this week’s Smackdown went off air.
Overall, it was a very good show. The continuation of all the storylines was really perfect. The return of Sasha Banks and her heel turn was amazing. The involvement of John Cena on the Universal title picture was also well booked. The only downside of this week was not enough good matches which is the most important part of a wrestling show. We give it 3 stars out of 5.
