The show started as Renee Young welcomed Shinsuke Nakamura. Nakamura came out to the arena. As Nakamura entered the ring, Renee was about to ask Nakamura something but they got interrupted by Dolph Ziggler. As Dolph entered the ring, Renee left the ring. Dolph started making fun of Nakamura. At the end, Dolph called Nakamura overrated. Nakamura took the mic off of Dolph’s hand and asked what his problem was. He told something in Japanese and he called him a jackass. Dolph attacked Nakamura with a kick to the midsection. Ziggler was about to hit the superkick as Nakamura countered it. Ziggler quickly escaped the ring.
Match 1 – AJ Styles vs. Baron Corbin
WWE United States champion Kevin Owens joined the commentary table during the match just like last week. There was a rumour of Baron Corbin getting a new entrance theme, but there was no new entrance theme this week. For the match, it was entertaining. AJ Styles picked up the win with a roll-up pin. After the match, Owens attacked AJ Styles, both Corbin and Owens started punishing AJ as Sami Zayn came out for the help. Owens avoided the fight first as Sami went on to fight Corbin. He hit Sami with a sneak attack. He beat down both Sami and AJ.
Match 2 – Beat the Clock challenge to determine the no 1 contender for the tag team championship – American Alpha vs. The Colons
The match was okay. American Alpha won the first challenge. Chad Gable pinned Primo for the win. American Alpha picked up the win with a spare time of 5:17 minutes.
Winners – American Alpha
Rusev responded on Smackdown for the first time. He said that he did not like being drafted to Smackdown. If he did not get a championship match at Money in the Bank, he would go back to Bulgaria.
Match 3 – Non-Title No DQ match – Randy Orton vs. Eric Rowan
It was a very entertaining match. It was booked for over ten minutes and it was a really hardcore match. There were Tables, Chairs, Kendo Sticks and many other hardcore devices. We expected Jinder Mahal to interfere during the match since it was a no DQ match. But nobody interfered. They are concentrating more on the house of horrors match right now.
Winner – Randy Orton
After the match, Orton said that he did not know what a house of horrors match was, but it would be Bray Wyatt’s eternal hell. Jinder Mahal interfered, he said that he should care more about him than Bray Wyatt. He cut a good promo then attempted to attack Orton as Orton countered. The Bollywood Boys came out for the help as the trio beat Orton down. Bollywood boys were addressed as the Singh Brothers by the commentators. Jinder took the WWE title away with him.
Match 4 – Beat the Clock challenge to determine the no 1 contender for the tag team championship – The Ascension vs. Breezango
It was a short match and really shocking to see Breezango beating the clock. That is right, Breezango is your new no 1 contender for the tag team championship. God bless Smackdown’s tag team division.
Winners – Breezango (New No 1 contender for the tag team championships)
Main Event – WWE Smackdown Women’s championship – Naomi vs. Charlotte
The match was going really well. It had a potential to become the best match of the night before the two were attacked by the team of Natalya, Carmella and Tamina. They beat down the champion and the challenger. Surprisingly, there was no involvement of Becky. We predicted the interference of the three in our preview section. But we also thought Becky Lynch would come out for the save. Maybe they are trying to make the three strong. This was potentially the mark of Charlotte’s face turn.
Result – No Contest
