WWE Smackdown April 4th, 2017 Results – Two Debuts and One Return! 1

They showed the highlights of the Smackdown matches from WrestleMania 33 before the start. The show started as the 13-time WWE champion Randy Orton came out to the arena.

He received a mixed reaction from the crowd. He talked about his victory over Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 33 and said he was Bray’s master now.

Bray Wyatt was shown on the big screen. He said that he had his rematch coming but he wanted to face him in a different kind of match. He challenged him in a ‘House of Horrors’ match.

A new name, don’t know what they are planning. Randy Orton accepted the challenge. Orton wanted Bray to come out to fight. The lights went off and when it came back Bray was seen inside the ring. Bray and Orton started fighting. As Randy Orton was turning out to be the stronger force, Eric Rowan attacked Orton. As both started beating Orton, Luke Harper came out to the rescue and saved Orton.

Backstage Miz and Maryse said that they would call out John Cena and Nikki Bella later on the night.

Match 1 – WWE Smackdown Women’s championship – Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss

This was the first championship rematch after WrestleMania 33. The match was given a ten minutes booking and it was a good match. Naomi picked up the win with a submission. We do not know yet what they call this submission manoeuvre of Naomi, it is similar to Anaconda Vice.

Winner – Naomi by submission

Match 2 – Curt Hawkins vs. Tye Dillinger

The first debut of the night and one of the most exciting one! Tye Dillinger is here in Smackdown baby! We had been rooting for this debut from quite a long time. It’s a great addition for Smackdown mid-card division. The match dominated by Tye as he picked up an easy win with the Tye Breaker.

Winner – Tye Dillinger

Backstage Mojo Rowley talked about his win in the Andre the Giant battle royal. Fans booed him.

John Cena’s music hit and the fans started booing him. It revealed to be Miz and Maryse coming out in the attire of John Cena and Nikki Bella. Miz sarcastically provoked the fans to chant ‘Cena sucks.’ Maryse was really funny in mimicking Nikki. They kept making fun of the two as the fans really found it funny. He said Cena and Nikki Bella would be going out of WWE for quite a long and they would not be seeing them for a quite a while. He provoked the fans to chant ‘No More Cena.’

As they attempted to leave the ring, an unknown man was seen playing violin in front of the stage. SHINSUKE NAKAMURA IS HERE! Oh yes, Nakamura made his debut! The fans went absolutely wild to see Nakamura making his main roster debut. It was arguably the most anticipated debut of post-WrestleMania 33.

Match 3 – Street Fight – Dean Ambrose vs. Baron Corbin

It was a very physical match. As it was a street fight, expectations were really high from it. There were weapons all over. There were tables, chairs, high-risk manoeuvres and a lot. Baron Corbin picked up the win with the End of Days

Winner – Baron Corbin

Shane McMahon addressed the superstar shake up which his father Vince McMahon mentioned yesterday on Raw. He said that all Raw superstars should be praying that they should end up in Smackdown as Daniel Bryan and he made it the land of opportunity. AJ Styles interrupted. He said that he did not care about the superstar shake up but he did not want to go anywhere because the house of Smackdown Live was built by AJ Styles. Then he said that was not why he came out, he said that after WrestleMania he felt like he owed Shane something, he offered to shake hands with Shane and Shane accepted. So, is that a face turn?

Main Event – The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt and Eric Rowan) vs. Luke Harper and WWE champion Randy Orton

It was a good tag team action. If you are a tag team match fan you should not miss this match. The match was booked for fifteen minutes as Randy Orton picked up the win after he pinned Eric Rowan after hitting the RKO. We thought Luke Harper would turn on Randy Orton at the end, it would make sense too. But no such thing happened.

Winners – Luke Harper and Randy Orton
