What to expect from this week’s WWE Smackdown: February 20, 2018

WWE Smackdown has already hyped up the main event of the Fastlane PPV by announcing a multi-superstar championship match.

Two more superstars were added to the contest making it a fatal-5-way contest from a triple threat match that will keep us hoping for more on the show with the WWE Champion coming back.

Also, a huge six-woman tag team match has been confirmed on the show which is likely to confirm the title match from the women’s division, as well.

With that being said, we can expect an exciting episode of Smackdown Live at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.

It was good to see that Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin getting a shot to the WWE Championship at the main event of Fastlane PPV.

This was a good step to elevate both of these two men’s career especially in a time when Wrestlemania season is approaching.

Hopefully, the creative team will keep the momentums on their side, tonight, too.

Plus, we have not heard from the champion, himself since he was not present on Smackdown Live, last week.

He will return on tonight’s show letting his views known to us about his upcoming title defense where the odds are stacked against him. It is quite evident that he will not be in a good mood, at all.

The main event of the night has been declared, last week. The Riott Squad will continue to grow bad blood against Charlotte Flair by issuing the big challenge which was converted into a match.

Check out the announcement of the six-woman tag team match;

“The Queen defeated Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan in singles competition, Ruby Riott issued a challenge to Flair, Becky Lynch & Naomi for a Six-Woman Tag Team throwdown. What will happen in this heated brawl? Find out this Tuesday on SmackDown LIVE at 8/7 C on USA Network!”

The reason behind this matchup is to set up the Women’s Championship match at the Fastlane PPV. It is expected that the heel faction will pick up the win getting the upper hand on the champion.

Ruby Riott is expected to pick up the pinfall win to get a title shot against the Queen at the upcoming PPV.

Randy Orton has been involved in the United States Championship scenario for the first time on Smackdown.

Last week, Jinder Mahal also made a huge statement by putting down Orton and Bobby Roode. It is expected whether the officials announce a multi-man match over the title.

Plus, the fate of the WWE Smackdown tag team championship will also be declared on tonight.

A number one contender’s match was declared to take place on the show that will be contested between the New Day and the team of Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin.
