Last night marked the go-home edition of SmackDown for the 33rd annual Survivor Series. A huge six-man main event tag team match was the headliner of the show.
Daniel Bryan summoned Bray Wyatt inside the ring just two nights before their title match. Plus, there were multiple invasions on the show that took place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois.
Roman Reigns to receive massive push before Wrestlemania
A backstage meeting of the SmackDown team members kicked off the show with Roman Reigns delivering a promo to his teammates.
Sasha Banks then arrived in the ring with teammates Lacey Evans, Carmella, Dana Brooke, and Nikki Cross.
They invited the Raw Women’s Team as Charlotte Flair came out with Sarah Logan, Natalya, and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka and Kairi Sane.
NXT team comprising of Rhea Ripley, Toni Storm, Mia Yim, Candice LeRae and Tegan Nox also entered the ring as Rhea proposed a match featuring all the captains.
So Flair vs. Banks vs. Ripley took place in the opening matchup of SmackDown. Flair had the Figure-Eight locked in on Banks. Ripley turned Flair’s submission on Banks into a pinfall to pick up a cunning win.
Sami Zayn was cutting an annoying promo on SmackDown when The Undisputed Era – Strong, NXT Champion Adam Cole, and NXT Tag Team Champions Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish arrived at the scene.
SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day came out to introduce Heavy Machinery to the scene to start an eight-man tag team match.
The New Day and Heavy Machinery vs. The Undisputed Era was the lineup on SmackDown. Otis of Machinery was in control hitting a slam and Caterpillar on O’Reilly.
But Bobby neutralized him whereas Strong hit Tucker with the Running Knee to get the pinfall win. After the match, AJ Styles appeared to the scene to start a brawl.
The Undisputed Era still stood tall using the numbers game. Nakamura ran to the back but AJ digested the beatdown.
WWE United States Champion AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson were standing in the ring blasting the Chicago crowd until Daniel Bryan hit the ring.
He cut a promo on The Fiend Bray Wyatt until The Miz came out pointing out how Bryan disrespected him, last week. Miz slapped Bryan on the face to begin the next matchup on SmackDown.
Daniel Bryan was in full control of the match as he brought back the YES chants and the YES kicks to the chest.
While going for the Running Knee, the lights went out as WWE Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt appeared. The match was disqualified as Wyatt put down Bryan with the Mandible Claw and disappeared.
NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler came out to address the scheduled Survivor Series triple threat against Bayley and Becky Lynch. Bayley pounced on her from the back to deliver a relentless attack. But Baszler countered with the Kirifuda Clutch.
Bayley came out of it and launched Baszler throat-first into the top of the barrier before escaping the scene.
Mustafa Ali, Roman Reigns and Shorty G vs. King Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode was the main event of SmackDown.
A big brawl broke out at the end of the match where Ziggler leveled Reigns with a Superkick. Corbin caught Ali with a Deep Six out of nowhere to get the pinfall. After the match, Reigns hit Corbin with a spear.
Seth Rollins’ music hit the arena as several Raw superstars ran out following him. The brawl continued between Raw and SmackDown as the crowd chanted for NXT.
A group of NXT Superstars rode the DX jeep to enter the arena with Triple H, Shawn Michaels in the lead. The brawl got even bigger with NXT superstars involving in the fight.
Braun Strowman and Keith Lee shared the ring to receive a massive pop from the crowd. They continued fighting in the ring as the show went off the air.
