Proving the rumors true, Lacey Evans is back on Smackdown on FOX and it seems like she’d be portraying a babyface character, moving forward. During the post-Wrestlemania 38 edition, the former Marine appeared in a pre-recorded vignette, which seems to be the first in a series of vignettes that could be lined up before she makes her actual in-ring return.
WWE Smackdown commentator Michael Cole noted on commentary that this was the first chapter in the story of Lacey Evans and thereby indicated that some more stories will follow.
During the promo, the WWE Superstar talked about how she came from a small town in Georgia, raised by a father who worked in construction, and a mother who was a young mom to five kids.
Lacey Evans mentioned how her father dealt with mental health issues and was addicted to drugs and alcohol. Her mother was forced to pack their belongings up in black trash bags and take them away when the physical, emotional, and mental abuse increased.

She also proceeded to reveal how they drove from state to state, staying in women’s shelters and at campgrounds. This tough upbringing led her to the conclusion of not completely giving up and refusing to quit. Lacey Evans wasn’t born with stardom and she’s okay with it. In the current circumstances, she feels motivated, ready for anything, confident as a mother, wife, sister, daughter, U.S. Marine, and a WWE Superstar.
Following this appearance on Smackdown through a promo, Lacey Evans tweeted on it by writing the below statement on Twitter, “My legacy will be the truth. It will be raw & real. It will show the world what U R capable of, regardless of the cards stacked against you. It will be for the ones down & out before they even get a chance to play the game. Love it or hate it, It’s for the ones who need it.”
Lacey Evans has been away from WWE TV since announcing her pregnancy on the February 15, 2021 episode of Raw, when she was involved in a program with current SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. Then she gave birth to her second child on October 16, and got back to training to return to action starting in November.
