With the shocking outcome of the United States match at Payback, there will definitely be some new feuds coming on Smackdown.
Kevin Owens is not a part of Smackdown, he teased a feud with AJ Styles and everyone was waiting for it, but it is not happening anymore.
So it looks like AJ Styles will battle Chris Jericho for the United States championship in a rematch. These two athletes put on some great matches in past. And who knows, there might be a reunion of Y2-AJ?
The WWE championship feud has really heated up after Jinder Mahal cost Randy Orton his match against Bray Wyatt at Payback. Even though no one is talking about Jinder as a serious deal, we must appreciate their attempts to present Jinder as a bigger deal.
Here is our take on this feud; Jinder should battle some mid cards in the following weeks before Backlash and must come victorious. This would be a good way to present him as a stronger deal. His stable, the Singh Brothers along with him should be presented quite dominant too.
Dolph Ziggler should have a match this week. And he must come out victorious. As they are building Shinsuke Nakamura as the next top star, his first opponent should look a little stronger. And Nakamura should have his first match directly at Backlash.
We did not see Tye Dillinger in action for two straight weeks now. Two weeks ago, they showed a promo package on Tye but last week, there was not even any mention of him. This week they need to book Tye in some singles action. He got a good momentum which should not be wasted because of lack of bookings.
Just like Jinder Mahal needs to be presented as a serious deal, they should provide some victories for the Breezango as well. Otherwise, they could never make Backlash an interesting show. Seriously, who would pay to watch The Usos vs. Breezango on a pay per view? It is a good thing that they are giving breaks to jobbers, but that should be booked properly.
Another feud that started last week was the feud between Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin. Let us not talk about what should be the outcome of this match but how they should book it. We think it should not be booked as most of the feuds of Baron Corbin because Sami had always been the mutual target for bigger people like Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe.
In this case, the scenario should be reversed, Sami Zayn keeps attacking Baron to take his frustration out. And Baron hits back, this would be a legit booking, and would be pretty interesting to see too.
And for the Women’s scenario; last week Natalya attacked Charlotte and Naomi with her newly formed stable. It might be a possible babyface turn for Charlotte. So what to expect from this storyline? Natalya with her would ask Becky Lynch to join their side, as Natty told Becky last week, ‘you’re either with us or against us.’ They might ask Becky for the final time about her decision. We think she would not join Natty’s side and will reunite with her friend Charlotte to form a babyface stable with Naomi involved in it.
This would be a great piece of booking and fans would be delighted to see such a storyline.
