WWE presented the go-home episode of Smackdown for Payback 2020, last night where the final hypes for the show were reserved. A huge contract signing segment was the headliner of the night featuring Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, and The Fiend. Also, Big E was scheduled to appear on the Miz TV talk show. WWE Smackdown Results (28/08/20): Contract Signing; Payback 2020 Go-Home Show

SmackDown opened with Vince McMahon handing the contract signing paper to WWE producer Adam Pearce and go to the respective three opponents of Payback to get the signs on it before the night is over.

Jeff Hardy came out to cut a promo but he was soon interrupted by AJ Styles who started insulting Hardy for last week’s title reign. Hardy took a shot at Styles to keep him down before going for an open challenge.

The first match of SmackDown featured Jeff Hardy vs Shinsuke Nakamura over the Intercontinental Championship. Hardy dodged a Sleeper Hold attempt and hit a Twist of Fate followed by the Swanton Bomb to retain his title. After the match, Sami Zayn made his return claiming that he’s still the IC Champion. Zayn also delivered a Helluva Kick to put down Hardy on the ramp.
