Roman Reigns has reportedly been injured since competing inside the WarGames structure and he’s expectedly been given off afterward. Now the dual champion is ready to return to WWE programming after this three weeks’ hiatus and we can expect to see some firecrackers involving one particular member of The Bloodline.
As announced during the latest bygone episode of Smackdown, Roman Reigns will return, next Friday night for the first time since Survivor Series WarGames. The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion will be on the show and he’s reportedly having something special planned for Sami Zayn.

The Bloodline announced Roman Reigns’ return
During last night’s December 9 episode of Smackdown, The Bloodline members were shown celebrating in their locker room after The Usos successfully defended their undisputed WWE tag team titles against The Brawling Brutes. During that segment, Jey Uso revealed that they have “a real big night” planned for Zayn on the upcoming episode of the blue brand show.
Roman Reigns is set to appear for the first time since Survivor Series and on that occasion, Zayn was requested to trim up his hair as well as the grown beard. Although Zayn and The Usos were on the same page, WWE did end the segment by teasing tensions between Jey and Zayn. Jimmy and Solo Sikoa weren’t present in the room during the conversation.

Sami Zayn could be the next challenger for Roman Reigns
That being said, chatters have been high since this segment on Smackdown about how Roman Reigns will possibly turn on his right-hand man, next week despite all his loyalty. Zayn is also one of the odds-on favorites to win the Men’s Royal Rumble Match, next month. He is currently behind only Cody Rhodes and The Rock to become the Men’s Rumble match winner.
In more news, WWE is holding Elimination Chamber 2023 edition from the hometown of Zayn in Montreal, Canada and chances are heavy that he would be the challenger for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title on that night. Prior to that, Roman Reigns is expected to defend the undisputed title against Kevin Owens at Royal Rumble 2023.
That is also the same night that The Tribal Chief is expected to be back in action following Survivor Series. According to the Wrestling Observer, he and Drew McIntyre suffered a ruptured eardrum, leading to the ongoing hiatus,
“Both Reigns and McIntyre are out of action for right now due to suffering ruptured eardrums at Survivor Series. It’s a short-term thing, and both should be back soon.”
