Roman Reigns was absent from WWE programming during this past edition of Smackdown that took place from the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. This was a rare scene on a Friday night where the top superstar generally features as the top attraction. In his absence, Brock Lesnar was the main attraction on the show.

Just a day later, Roman Reigns was back onboard on a WWE show while competing in a house show. WWE held a live event last night at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson, Mississippi. In the main event of that show, the Tribal Chief of the WWE retained his Universal title against Drew McIntyre. This singles contest has been the main event lineup for recent past occasions.

Apart from Roman Reigns, SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair was in action on the night as she teamed up with Sonya Deville for a loss to the team of Sasha Banks and Naomi. Since this was a blue brand special event, the mid-card title from the roster was also up for grabs on this bygone night.

WWE Smackdown: Roman Reigns Returns To Action In Jackson Live Event 2

As noted, Roman Reigns did not appear on this past episode of SmackDown, but his Wrestlemania 38 opponent Lesnar opened the show and proceeded to call him out. This was a stern warning over how The Bloodline busted him open after the main event of Madison Square Garden live event after Lesnar retained over Austin Theory.

Paul Heyman came out to inform Lesnar that Roman Reigns was not there. Lesnar then chased Heyman to the backstage area and fought off security as Heyman was able to escape in a SUV. Now Reigns and Lesnar have been announced to collide on the next edition of Smackdown.
